Talent Advisor

Te tūranga – The role

Based in the heart of Britomart in Auckland, you’ll own a recruitment portfolio and partner with hiring managers to attract and hire high-quality, diverse talent and make sound hiring decisions. This is a hands-on advisory role, combining end-to-end recruitment delivery with practical advice and opportunities to improve how we recruit.

You’ll be our sole Auckland-based Talent team member, working alongside People and Culture colleagues in people partnering and culture and capability. With the wider Talent team in Wellington, you’ll work independently day-to-day while staying connected through proactive communication and regular visits.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs, shape attraction, sourcing and selection approaches, and support sound hiring decisions.
  • Own recruitment across your portfolio, delivering effective end-to-end processes and a positive experience for candidates and hiring managers.
  • Provide trusted recruitment advice, building hiring managers’ confidence and capability in recruitment best practice.
  • Work closely with People and Culture colleagues to provide joined-up support throughout the hiring process.
  • Manage relationships with recruitment suppliers to obtain good value and service.
  • Help improve how we recruit, contributing to our recruitment practices, candidate experience and employer brand.

Ō pūkenga – About you

You’re an experienced recruitment professional who combines practical expertise with strong relationships and takes ownership of your work.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end recruitment in a professional environment.
  • The ability to build hiring managers’ trust, influence decisions and challenge constructively.
  • Sound knowledge of recruitment best practice and selection methods that support fair, effective hiring.
  • Strong organisation and judgement, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently while keeping the wider organisational context in view.
  • Proactive communication and the ability to stay connected and collaborate with colleagues across locations.

Experience using Workday for recruitment would be a significant advantage. Recruitment experience in financial services or banking would also be highly valued.

You’ll also need to travel to Wellington regularly to connect with the wider Talent and People and Culture teams.
