About this Talent Acquisition Lead role at Premium Merchant Funding
About Us
Premium Merchant Funding (PMF) is one of the nation's leading providers of working capital solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. From our headquarters in New York City's Financial District, we've built a high-performance sales organization with teams across the country and a recruiting operation to match — including a summer program that engages over 350 interns annually. We're growing, and we're looking for a recruiting professional who wants to take full ownership of that growth.
The Role
This is a hands-on, full-cycle recruiting role for someone with the experience to recognize strong recruiting — and the initiative to take full ownership of delivering it. You'll manage the end-to-end recruiting and engagement process for a dedicated group of our sales teams, building genuine relationships with team leaders who have high standards and rely on a recruiting partner who understands their culture and earns their trust over time.
Team leaders at PMF are sales leaders, not traditional hiring managers. They meet with candidates to assess fit and, when the right candidate needs a final nudge, help close them. Your job is to get the right people to that point — running a smart, high-volume pipeline and bringing candidates forward who are genuinely worth their time.
The candidates you'll be engaging are commission-based sales representatives — driven, ambitious people motivated by unlimited upside. Identifying that profile and presenting the opportunity with conviction requires instinct, persistence, and a genuine understanding of what makes someone succeed in a performance-based environment. You'll also take point on employee-level searches across operations and support functions as needs arise, bringing the same rigor to a more traditional search process.
We're looking for someone who sees obstacles as problems to solve. If something isn't working, we expect you to diagnose it and drive the fix — not wait to be told how. This role has meaningful latitude for someone prepared to use it.
What You'll Do
- Lead the full recruiting and engagement process for assigned sales teams — sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding — managing an active, high-volume pipeline across multiple teams simultaneously.
- Build trust-based relationships with team leaders, developing a deep understanding of their culture, standards, and what makes a candidate genuinely thrive on their team.
- Assess candidates with a sharp eye for drive, resilience, and coachability — the qualities that predict success in a commission-based environment — and engage them compellingly throughout the process.
- Lead employee-level searches across operations and support functions as needed, adapting your approach to a different candidate profile and evaluation process.
- Own PMF's annual summer internship program end-to-end: sourcing and screening candidates, managing logistics and timelines, coordinating required school paperwork, and overseeing onboarding for 100+ interns.
- Identify gaps in recruiting effectiveness and bring concrete solutions to leadership — not just observations.
- Track pipeline activity and provide clear, proactive updates to operations leadership on recruiting progress.
What You Bring
- 4–6 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a demonstrated track record in high-volume, sales, staffing, or agency environments.
- Proven ability to take ownership of a recruiting function — not just execute tasks, but anticipate needs, solve problems, and drive consistent outcomes.
- Experience building relationships with demanding stakeholders who care deeply about who joins their teams.
- Sharp instincts for evaluating candidates beyond the resume — particularly for the mindset and motivation that drive performance in commission-based roles.
- Comfort managing a busy desk with multiple concurrent searches at different stages, without losing momentum or detail.
- Clear, confident communicator — with candidates, team leaders, and leadership alike.
- Experience with ATS platforms, Indeed, and LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Campus recruiting experience is a strong plus, particularly for managing high-volume seasonal programs.
- Background in financial services, sales recruiting, or agency environments is a plus.
Compensation & Opportunity
- Base salary: $90,000 – $120,000, commensurate with experience.
- Performance-based bonus; total compensation for strong performers exceeds the posted range.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Meaningful career growth within PMF's expanding national organization — this is a role with visibility and upside for the right person.
- Onsite at our Financial District headquarters, where your work has direct and visible impact on the organization's growth.
