Job Summary:

Job Duties:

• Support mission-critical IBM Z environments requiring high availability, high throughput and effective CPU-capacity management.
• Administer IBM Z infrastructure and core software, including z/OS, Db2 for z/OS, CICS Transaction Server and IBM MQ, plus related development, performance, connectivity, VTL and distributed-platform services.
• Support BMC AMI storage-management and application-development software, including StopX37, and Broadcom mainframe software such as CA 1 Tape Management, CA 7 Workload Automation and Endevor Software Change Manager, from installation and maintenance through optimisation, troubleshooting and vendor coordination.
• Perform configuration, security setup, patching, upgrades, backup and recovery, performance tuning, stress testing and capacity planning.
• Provide database administration, implementation support and performance analysis to application teams.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, information security and operations teams to integrate the platform and deliver reliable production services.
• Resolve complex incidents and recurring problems, and manage incidents, problems, changes and releases through ServiceNow.
• Implement compliance requirements, review controls, identify vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation while maintaining technical and recovery documentation.
• Advise on platform architecture and database configuration, and manage vendors and delivery partners to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of hands-on experience supporting IBM Z environments, with strong practical experience across core operating system, database, transaction-processing and messaging technologies.
• Proven experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability and high-performance IBM Z platforms.
• Practical experience in system administration, troubleshooting, performance management, security controls, patching, upgrades, backup and recovery.
• Experience with VTL architecture and major third-party mainframe software covering tape management, workload automation, software change management, storage management or application development is an advantage.
• Experience supporting third-party mainframe storage-management or application-development software is an advantage.
• Experience working within disciplined IT service management processes is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, accountable and collaborative working style.
• Effective interpersonal, stakeholder-management, documentation and presentation skills.
