Department Overview

Job Description

The System Technologist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

• Upgrade customer servers with the latest software release
• Migrate legacy databases into new database structures
• Ensure customer satisfaction involves proper support, and delivery on contracted service level agreements
• Work with team members and other internal MSI teams to provide exceptional customer service and technical support, as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues with the customer

Specific Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience with Windows and Linux servers; Linux command line basic navigation and file structure
• Experience with SQL - specifically PostgreSQL schema structures or other object-relational database structures
• Experience with nginx and tomcat web services
• Basic Network and Infrastructure knowledge
• Ability to troubleshoot application system issues including hardware, networking, and third party components
• Execution of bash scripts and Windows executables/scripting
• Customer service/support experience
• Strong command of communication skills, both oral and written
• Exhibit strong ownership and follow through; own the customer's issue and drive the resolution to ensure the customer is satisfied with the end result
• Exceptional interpersonal skills required
• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Effective time management skills required
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a high stress/at times confrontational situations
• Demonstrates a high degree of drive and determination; willing to go the extra mile to provide outstanding customer service
• Adaptive and flexible individual who is willing to learn and make recommendations for improvements
• Ability to work and make decisions with minimal supervision
• Basic knowledge of Motorola Flex software suite preferred

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers

Target Base Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 2+ years of experience in technical customer support and/or technical business analysis role
• Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer  
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
