About this System Support Specialist role at Leidos
The Digital Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for an Entry-Level System Support Specialist to work in our Huntsville, AL office. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills and experience while supporting the NASA End-user Services and Technologies (NEST) Contract mission, providing end-user computing device services at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the setup and delivery of end-user services, including mobile devices, printers, and computer equipment, following established procedures and guidance from senior technicians.
- Provide basic technical support for end-user hardware, software, and device-related issues, troubleshooting common problems and escalating issues requiring additional technical expertise.
- Interact with NASA customers and contractors to provide basic information and assistance with NEST services, ensuring a positive customer service experience.
- Perform initial identification and basic troubleshooting of system issues using established procedures, escalating unresolved problems and incidents to senior-level technicians.
- Assist with documenting, tracking, and escalating third-party software and network-related issues to the appropriate technical support teams.
- Support the fulfillment of end-user hardware and software requests, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to established service processes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4 years of Information Technology (IT) support experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Experience providing technical support for current versions of the Windows operating system.
- Experience providing technical support for current versions of macOS.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of and experience with the NASA desktop computing environment and software suite.
- Experience using ServiceNow to manage incidents and service requests.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
The salary for this position is approximately $30.00 - $35.52 an hour. The actual hourly rate is based on location.
