Become part of our Automation & Engineering Solutions team at our Aachen site, which focuses on the development and implementation of complex production and test systems for optical systems.
The Automation & Engineering Solutions department covers all aspects of a holistic development approach: from requirements engineering, electrical and mechanical design, software automation and assembly through to commissioning at our production sites and integration with higher-level MES systems.
Your Role
As part of our implementation team, you will play an important role in the manufacturing, assembly, testing and commissioning of high-quality components and machines. With your technical understanding, hands-on skills and strong commitment to quality, you will ensure that our assemblies and components are manufactured and assembled precisely, reliably and on schedule.
Your Responsibilities
- Assemble components and assemblies based on technical drawings, bills of materials and assembly documentation
- Manufacture parts according to technical drawings and specifications
- Carry out modifications and rework on components
- Install and align mechanical and pneumatic components and perform precise adjustments and fine-tuning
- Perform functional tests and quality inspections and support commissioning activities
- Identify, analyze and document assembly deviations, functional defects and basic faults
- Work closely with related departments such as Mechanical Design, Electrical Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production and Project Management
- Contribute your experience to continuously improve assembly and manufacturing processes
Your Profile
- Completed vocational training as an industrial mechanic, plant mechanic, mechatronics technician or a comparable qualification
- Initial experience in machine or assembly installation is an advantage
- Confident in working with technical drawings and assembly documentation
- Experience in machining processes (e.g. turning, milling)
- Good knowledge of mechanics and mechanical engineering
- Strong practical skills and technical understanding
- An independent, careful and solution-oriented approach to work
- Strong teamwork skills and a high sense of responsibility
- Willingness to travel to customer sites within Germany (approx. 10–20%)
