For our group company, Berindo Jaya, we are looking for a Sustainability Program Manager, Indonesia (f/m/d).
The position will be based in Bandar Lampung and reports directly to General Manager.


The Sustainability Program Manager will be the leader and primary focal point for all coffee sustainability activities in Indonesia, covering both Arabica and Robusta, with the majority of activities focused in North and South Sumatra.

Your responsibilities

  • Sustainability Leadership: Lead and coordinate NKG's sustainability agenda in Indonesia across Arabica and Robusta, ensuring alignment between NKG and customer requirements.
  • Certified Supply Chains: Execute new certified coffee supply chains, including Rainforest Alliance, C.A.F.E. Practices, 4C, Organic and other customer-specific programs. Coordinate certification readiness, audits, corrective actions, and ongoing compliance.
  • Program Implementation: Design and oversee sustainability initiatives covering responsible sourcing, farmer engagement and training, regenerative agriculture, climate resilience, environmental protection and other relevant social and environmental priorities.
  • Team & Partner Management: Manage and/or support internal sustainability teams and field teams employed by strategic suppliers and partners, setting clear objectives, implementation plans, KPIs and accountability.
  • Traceability, Technology & Data: Drive the use of digital traceability and sustainability systems, ensuring accurate collection, validation and documentation of farmer, farm, geolocation, certification and sustainability data. Support client-facing systems and reporting requirements and ensure reliable farm-to-customer traceability.
  • Responsible Sourcing & EUDR: Support compliance with relevant responsible sourcing requirements, including EUDR, deforestation-risk management and supply-chain due diligence, working closely with suppliers and NKG teams.
  • Customer Engagement: Represent NKG's Indonesia sustainability activities in customer meetings, presentations, origin visits and program reviews. Articulate sustainability strategies, field activities, traceability and impact in a clear, credible and commercially relevant manner.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with farmers, suppliers, cooperatives, NGOs, certification bodies, government agencies, customers and other relevant partners.
  • Matrix Collaboration: Work closely with commercial, sourcing, operations and sustainability colleagues across Indonesia, the NKG Asia Hub and global NKG functions.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Management from time to time.


Your profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Agrifood Systems or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in sustainability, responsible sourcing, certified agricultural supply chains, or field-level programs, preferably within coffee or cocoa in Indonesia.

  • Strong understanding of Indonesian agricultural/coffee supply chains; experience in Sumatra and across Arabica and/or Robusta is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience establishing and managing certification/verification programs, preferably including Rainforest Alliance, C.A.F.E. Practices, 4C and/or Organic.
  • Experience working with smallholder farmers, suppliers, field teams and strategic partners, including influencing teams that may not report directly to the role.
  • Good understanding of traceability, EUDR, deforestation risk, sustainability data and responsible sourcing requirements.
  • Technology savvy, with the ability to work confidently with digital traceability platforms, sustainability databases, data analytics and customer-facing reporting/documentation systems.
  • Full business fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, written and spoken.
  • Strong leadership, ownership and ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Highly articulate and confident communicator, comfortable presenting to international customers, senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Ability to translate field-level sustainability activities and data into clear and compelling customer communication.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable operating independently within a matrix organization and working across cultures and functions.
  • Practical and field-oriented, with willingness to travel extensively across Indonesia.
