Job Summary
The Superintendent, Shipping, Preprice & Chiller is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of shipping, prepricing, and chiller operations within the facility. This role ensures efficient and timely product movement, adherence to food safety and regulatory standards, and coordination with logistics and production teams. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, expertise in supply chain operations, and the ability to optimize processes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Logistics Management
- Oversee daily shipping operations to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.
- Manage order fulfillment, inventory control, and shipment scheduling.
- Work with transportation carriers and logistics providers to optimize costs and efficiency.
- Ensure all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests, are accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyze shipping metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Preprice Operations
- Supervise prepricing activities, ensuring all products are labeled accurately per customer and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with production and sales teams to meet order specifications and deadlines.
- Implement process improvements to enhance labeling efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with food labeling regulations and customer specifications.
Chiller Operations & Cold Chain Management
- Oversee chiller operations, ensuring proper temperature control and product integrity.
- Monitor refrigeration systems to prevent downtime and maintain product quality.
- Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, and HACCP guidelines for cold storage and food safety.
- Implement strategies to minimize product loss and improve storage efficiency.
Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Supervise and provide leadership to shipping, prepricing, and chiller teams.
- Develop work schedules and allocate resources to meet operational goals.
- Train and mentor employees on best practices, safety, and efficiency.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement corrective actions when needed.
Compliance & Safety
- Maintain compliance with food safety, OSHA, and regulatory requirements in all operations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
- Implement and enforce company policies regarding workplace safety and operational procedures.
Process Improvement & Cost Control
- Identify areas to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs without compromising quality.
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and control labor, equipment, and material costs within budgeted guidelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- HACCP, OSHA, or other industry certifications are a plus.

Experience
- 5+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, cold storage, or food manufacturing.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a warehouse, production, or logistics setting.
- Experience with inventory management and ERP systems.
