Overview

Supplying our warfighters with the critical network and electronic parts they need to be mission-ready requires more than shipping and receiving boxes. It takes rigorous tracking, technical precision, and structural organization. Onsite at our Naval Station Norfolk facility, our Supply Technician manages the complex material lifecycle for the TACNET program. From the receipt inspection of sensitive electronics to the digital tracking of NIINs in CMPRO, this role is designed for a logistics professional who thrives on database accuracy, neat warehouse lines, and hands-on material management.

 Responsibilities

• Execute technical supply operations, material warehousing, and property control for projects involving naval electronic and electrical installation, repair, acquisition, and distribution.
• Utilize automated supply inventory control systems like Navy ERP and CMPRO to process real-time transactions, execute barcode tracking, monitor stocking thresholds, and maintain digital-to-physical inventory alignment.
• Prepare, process, and track DD Form 1149 shipping and transfer documents to ensure flawless chain-of-custody and material movement tracking.
• Maintain rigorous asset tracking and database accuracy in direct support of Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) compliance standards.
• Execute Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) procedures to ensure all defense electronics, electrostatic-discharge sensitive devices, and HAZMAT cargo are packaged, handled, and stored in compliance with military standards.
• Lead kitting operations by systematically assembling, packaging, and documenting individual network components, cables, and hardware into complete, field-ready deployment kits for installation teams.
• Perform high-accuracy data entry, asset management, and configuration tracking across automated supply systems to align parts, serial numbers, and National Item Identification Numbers with contract specifications.
• Coordinate daily material operations, including receipt inspection, systematic storage management, inventory staging, issuing, packaging, and shipping.
• Work collaboratively within a warehouse team under the operational direction of the Warehouse Lead to meet daily project milestones and dynamic logistics requirements.
• Maintain financial management records, property utilization tracking, and inventory logs for government-furnished property and contract line items in compliance with DoD audit standards.
• Safely operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to maneuver and stage materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Participate in routine cycle counts, physical inventory reconciliations, and discrepancy investigations.
• Perform other related technical supply, inventory control, and logistics support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years of documented experience in automated supply, inventory control, or warehouse logistics operations, to include: Prior experience performing lead-level warehouse responsibilities or overseeing material control workflows within a DoD facility (such as coordinating daily tasks, managing specific inventory sections, or leading shipping/receiving teams), direct experience with financial management and inventory accountability for logistics programs and dedicated logistics support for projects involving electronic/electrical repair and installation, including the acquisition, ordering, and distribution of material, equipment, and resources.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of standard technical supply operations including receiving, storage management, issuing, and shipping.
• Physical ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, and lift or carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Forklift Operator Certification.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Active Secret Clearance walking through the door

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior background providing logistics or supply support for Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) or tactical network programs like CANES, ADNS, or ISNS.
• Direct experience handling, staging, and cataloging DoD electronics and tactical network equipment.
• Hands-on proficiency with CMPRO configuration management and product lifecycle software.
• Working knowledge of Navy ERP (N-ERP) or related automated military inventory systems.
• Practical experience generating and managing DD Form 1149 documentation and supporting FIAR-compliant inventory audits.
• Prior military supply rating or MOS like Navy Logistics Specialist (LS/SK), Marine Corps 3043, or Army 92Y.
• Familiarity with DoD standard packaging, MIL-STD labeling, and safe handling procedures for ESD electronics and HAZMAT shipments.

Basic Compensation: $32.51 - $35.50 per hour
