Installation Supervisor
Summary
The primary responsibility of the Installation Supervisor is to schedule and manage all installations in the field. Responsibilities include making sure all installation quality expectations are met, timely completions, and prompt customer service. The Installation Supervisor works closely with Field Managers and reports on field operations to ensure expectations are met across all installation activity.
Essential Functions
Workforce Management & Development
- Maintains workforce to support volume and skills required of customer requests through effective recruitment practices.
- Monitors and ensures installation contractor workforce is balanced according to company standards and guidelines.
- Provides feedback to installers regarding installation outcomes vs. company standards.
- Provides feedback and holds installers accountable for installation standards while maintaining strong relationships.
- Regularly communicates challenges, changes, and expectations with installers.
Compliance Oversight
- Ensures all contractors adhere to compliance standards.
- Notifies installers of upcoming changes or requirements needed to maintain compliance and follows up to satisfy requirements in a timely manner.
Project & Technical Guidance
- Assesses special projects and provides sound guidance to ensure product challenges and installation requirements are addressed upfront for a successful install.
- Responsible for providing instruction and direction to each install crew and subcontractors to ensure all expectations are met on a regular basis.
Work Order & Documentation Management
- Ensures work orders are efficiently processed and accurately reflect type and quantity of services and materials used according to company standards and guidelines.
Labor Assignment & Scheduling
- Responsible for understanding installation contractor capacities and capabilities to be able to assign the optimum labor to jobs.
- Assigns installation contractors to jobs and provides all required work order and installation instructions to ensure accurate and complete installations.
- Looks for optimal labor assignment based on geography of work, capabilities, and capacities to deliver on-time installations.
Job Status Monitoring & Issue Resolution
- Maintains daily and ongoing communication and feedback with installation contractors to obtain overall status of jobs, ensure completion on time, and assist with issue resolution.
Health & Safety
- Ensures crews follow required safety practices on assigned jobs.
Education & Experience
Required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience in installation, field services, or construction trades, including some experience coordinating or directing the work of others.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to follow established scheduling and assignment guidelines for a defined group of contractors or a specific territory.
Preferred
- Associate degree or relevant trade/technical certification.
- Prior experience using a scheduling, dispatch, or work order system.
Skills & Competencies
- Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written communication with contractors, customers, and the Installation Manager.
- Follow-Through: Reliable in confirming assignments, deadlines, and compliance items are completed as directed.
- Organization: Able to manage a daily schedule and job load for an assigned group of contractors without significant backlog.
- Basic Problem-Solving: Able to resolve routine, on-site issues directly; recognizes when an issue requires escalation.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; able to use company scheduling and work order systems.
- Customer Focus: Professional and courteous in all customer- and resident-facing interactions.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and operate office/mobile equipment for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift materials or equipment occasionally and work in varied environmental conditions.
Pay range: $75-$78K plus benefits
