About this Superintendent Pharmacist role at Montu UK

Montu UK · Onsite · Winnersh

At Montu, every prescription represents a patient waiting for treatment that can make a genuine difference to their quality of life.

Our pharmacy is at the heart of everything we do, processing over 50,000 prescriptions each month, with continued month-on-month growth of approximately 10%.

We are looking for an experienced Superintendent Pharmacist to take ownership of clinical governance, regulatory compliance and professional standards across our rapidly growing, digital-first pharmacy.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone with extensive knowledge of GPhC standards, MHRA regulations and Controlled Drugs governance, who can provide clear regulatory direction and ensure the pharmacy continues to operate safely, compliantly and efficiently as the business grows.

Working closely with the General Manager of Pharmacy, Medical Director and wider senior leadership team, this role will be instrumental in shaping pharmacy strategy, strengthening governance frameworks and ensuring regulatory readiness for future expansion.

This is not a traditional Superintendent Pharmacist position. The scale, pace and complexity of the operation require someone who can balance rigorous professional standards with commercial awareness, operational efficiency and a genuine commitment to patient safety.

What is the Job?

The Superintendent Pharmacist will have overall responsibility for the clinical and regulatory governance of Montu Pharmacy, ensuring all pharmacy activities meet the required professional, legal and regulatory standards.

This includes providing professional leadership to a pharmacy team of over 100 people, overseeing Controlled Drugs governance, maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring that systems, processes and Standard Operating Procedures are robust, effective and scalable.

The role requires a hands-on, knowledgeable and confident leader who can identify regulatory risks, provide clear guidance to operational teams and take ownership of regulatory inspections, audits and continuous improvement.

Alongside day-to-day governance, there is an opportunity to influence the wider pharmacy strategy, evaluate new services, support business expansion and contribute to the development of pharmacy technology and automation.
