Student Customer Service Specialist

The Student Customer Service Specialist serves an important role in the daily operations of ASU Enterprise Partners (ASUEP) and its affiliates. The Student Customer Service Specialist position works within the Building Operations department and is responsible for completing multiple daily and weekly office tasks in support of ASUEP.  This position is year-round.

Hours available for this position are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (shared hours) 

What you’ll do: 

  • Student hours will be arranged according to their school schedule and shared work with other students 

  • Assist with conference center desk, reception desk, and building operations  

  • Display professional demeanor at all times 

  • Greet and direct visitors and answer questions 

  • Provide excellent customer service  

  • Conduct daily deliveries  

  • Oversee all aspects of company vehicles and golf carts   

  • Oversee and conduct scheduled inventory/restock/ordering of all supplies 

  • Organize supply rooms, mail room, storage rooms and galley areas 

  • Responsible for all aspects of reserving conference rooms to ensure accuracy 

  • Ensure conference rooms are set according to customer standards for meetings and events 

  • Provide basic audio-visual support 

  • Operate a multi-line phone system, receiving and screening calls, re-directing caller as appropriate 

  • Provide parking validation for guests  

  • Assist with special projects 

  • Other tasks as requested or assigned 

What you'll need:  

  • Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment 

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Enterprise Partners, its affiliates and University business and confidential prospect information

  • Strong collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible 

  • Team-oriented strategist able to effectively manage complex situations involving numerous and sometimes competing constituencies

  • Ability to represent the institution well and possess an advocate’s belief in the vision of ASU as the New American University

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects

  • Adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans

  • Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word

Relevant qualifications: 

A current student at Arizona State University pursuing a degree in a related field with a willingness to learn and ability to work well with others. Student must be willing to sign and abide by a confidentiality agreement. Student must possess a valid driver’s license and have a driving record in good standing, and be able and willing to safely drive company vehicles and golf carts as a requirement of the role.

Physical requirments:

This position requires the ability to frequently operate a computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment. Employees must be able to regularly stand, walk, sit, communicate effectively, and hear. The role also requires the ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as needed to support facilities operations, including shipping and receiving, inventory management, workspace moves and reconfigurations, conference center setup, and other related activities. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Employees must be able to safely operate company vehicles and golf carts in support of job duties. Occasional early morning, evening, or extended hours may be required to support meetings, events, and operational needs.
