About the Role
 

As the Student Administration Services Assistant, you will provide administrative support across a range of student, teaching and learning activities within the College. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will assist students, staff and members of the public through front counter, phone and online enquiries, while contributing to the delivery of quality student administration services.
 

Other key position responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support and responding to routine enquiries from students, staff and external stakeholders.

  • Processing and maintaining accurate student information and records across a range of University systems.

  • Assisting with administration relating to the engagement of casual teaching staff.

  • Supporting a range of student administration activities while contributing to a positive and high-quality service experience.

This position makes a significant contribution to the University’s strategic plan to "Changing 10 million lives, Every One Matters", by 2035 through delivering responsive and student-focused administrative support across the student lifecycle. By providing high-quality service and creating positive interactions for students, staff and the broader community, the role helps foster a vibrant culture that supports student success and an exceptional University experience.

About You
 

You are a customer-focused administrator with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely support. You enjoy working in a team environment, can manage competing priorities and are confident communicating with a diverse range of people.

To thrive in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience providing administrative support and customer service in a busy office or service environment.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new systems and processes.

About the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students) 
 

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students) provides administrative support to key strategic and operational functions of the University’s student-related and academic services. Prescribed Conditions for Employment
 

Appointment to this role is conditional on the completion of required pre-employment checks and declarations, each of which must be satisfactory to the University. This includes:

  • A current completed Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Gender Based Violence Declaration which is satisfactory to the University. The contract of Employment is conditional upon the receipt of these completed compliance checks. A disclosable outcome will not automatically disqualify a candidate from consideration. Each case will be assessed on its individual merits and relevance to the inherent requirements of the role.

    • Demonstrated experience and commitment to providing quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders in a complex service environment.

    • Ability to use initiative, establish priorities, effectively and efficiently process large volumes of tasks whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail, and to meet deadlines.

    • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to liaise effectively with a diverse range of people.

    • Well-developed IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, databases, Internet and the ability to quickly become competent with other systems and programs as required.
