Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead/manage/supervise a function/organization/department/team in the development, and/or implementation and/or execution in their own area of responsibility. Each day, you will be accountable for the delivery of solutions, and enhancements, creating technology roadmaps that align organizational plans with emerging technology solutions. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring efficient service capabilities.

This role is contributing to the
Motion IS Services globally.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Own the end-to-end technical solution for structured data products within the allocated domain, from business requirements through design, build, deployment, and publishing.
  • Act as the technical product owner for data products, extending the standard product owner role with accountability for data architecture, integration patterns, and operational stability.
  • Manage and drive business change requests, ensuring controlled evolution of data products while protecting data consistency, quality, and reuse.
  • Own and maintain technical metadata, and ensure accurate and timely publication of data products in the ABB standard data catalog, in line with governance standards.
  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve data lineage, and collaborate closely with Business Data Owners to identify, analyze, and resolve data quality issues.
  • Proactively track, manage, and report operational incidents and risks, ensuring transparency towards business stakeholders and governance bodies.
  • Ensure a reliable run operation, including monitoring, support processes, and continuous improvement of performance, availability, and data integrity.
  • Lead and develop a small technical team, and act as the single point of contact for business escalations related to the owned data products.



Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
  • Proven  domain knowledge and network
  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner, IT Product Owner, or Data Product Owner, ideally in a complex, global environment.
  • Strong understanding of structured data architectures, data integration, and data lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with metadata management, data catalogs, and data lineage concepts and tools.
  • Solid knowledge of data governance and data quality management, with experience working closely with business data owners.
  • Experience in managing run operations, incidents, and service stability for data or IT products is beneficial
  • Experience leading or coordinating a small technical team in an agile or hybrid delivery setup.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to act as escalation point for business partners.
