POSITION SUMMARY:

The Convenience Store Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service to employee residents while ensuring the efficient daily operation of the employee housing convenience store. The role includes operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, replenishing merchandise, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring store cleanliness, and supporting a positive shopping experience for all customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Store Operations

• Assist customers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for all sales transactions.
• Receive cash, card, and other approved payment methods and ensure proper cash handling procedures.
• Open and close the store according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of daily sales and transactions.
• Ensure merchandise is properly displayed, labeled, and stocked.

2. Inventory Management

• Monitor stock levels and report low inventory to the supervisor.
• Replenish shelves, refrigerators, and display areas as needed.
• Assist in receiving, checking, and storing deliveries.
• Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
• Participate in inventory counts and stock audits.
• Report damaged, expired, or missing items.

3. Customer Service

• Provide prompt assistance and respond to customer inquiries.
• Resolve minor customer concerns and escalate issues when necessary.
• Promote a welcoming and customer-focused environment.
• Ensure customers receive efficient service during peak operating hours.
• Store Maintenance & Housekeeping
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, storage rooms, and display areas.
• Ensure shelves, counters, refrigerators, and checkout areas are clean and presentable.
• Follow health, hygiene, and food safety standards where applicable.
• Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain a safe shopping environment.

4. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Ensure compliance with cash handling and security procedures.
• Report safety hazards, incidents, losses, or suspicious activities immediately.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and emergency procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in retail, convenience store, supermarket, or customer service operations preferred.
