About Standard Economics

Standard Economics builds Uno, a mobile app that gives people in emerging markets a dollar-backed account, a card, credit, and everyday payments. We are live in Mexico and the Philippines and preparing to launch our next market. We are a small team: everyone works close to the data, close to users, and close to the product.

The Role

You will own one market end to end: understand it through data, adapt the product to it, keep it healthy and compliant, and grow it. This is a builder-operator role that combines product management, growth, and business ownership. You are the person who turns what the data, the users, and the market are telling us into decisions.

We want someone who thinks like an owner of the business, not just an operator of a checklist: someone who sees where the market can go, what it will take to get there, and who we need to work with to make it happen.

What you will own

The market's performance. Know your numbers cold: signups, activation, retention, credit usage, acquisition cost. You can pull and interpret data yourself, present the market read to leadership, and decide where to focus next.

Growth. Find and exploit the growth levers for your market: referral mechanics, incentives, lifecycle comms, local channels, and the product changes that unlock them. Run experiments and write honest readouts.

Product adaptation. Propose and spec market-specific changes: flows, features, incentives, and the local language in everything users see. Work directly with engineering to ship, then measure whether it worked.

Partnerships. Own the local partner landscape: payment rails, card programs, identity-verification providers, and the distribution or merchant partnerships that can accelerate the market. Manage existing relationships and identify new ones.

Compliance and regulatory posture. Keep the product compliant in your market: regulatory wording and claims in user-facing content, KYC and fraud controls, and refund decisions. Flag regulatory risks early and work with counsel and central teams on how we operate locally.

Product health. Stay close to what users are experiencing, catch issues early, and drive them to resolution with engineering. Support quality and user trust are outcomes you own, even if you are not the one answering tickets.

Who You Are

• Operational experience in tech (fintech, marketplaces, delivery, or similar), ideally owning outcomes, not just processes

• Strong bias to action — you'd rather launch something imperfect this week than something polished next quarter

• Track record owning growth: channels, funnels, experiments, with measurable results

• Sharp with data: comfortable querying (SQL), reading dashboards, turning numbers into decisions

• Heavy daily AI tooling user — it's multiplied your output

• Fluent Spanish and English

• Based in Argentina

Nice to Have

• Fintech/payments experience: regulators (BCRA, CNV), payment rails, wallets, lending

• Prior experience launching new products or markets (0→1)

• Background at LatAm operators (DiDi, Rappi, Nu, Mercado Pago, Ualá, etc.)
