About this Staff Product Manager role at Collibra

Collibra · Hybrid · New York, New York, USA

Joining Collibra’s AI Product Management team

Collibra’s AI Product Management team sets how we build AI into our platform and how we help customers govern and trust their own AI systems. You will work with the Director of AI Engineering to shape our AI strategy and roadmap, and with Product and Engineering leaders to ship AI features customers use. You will report directly to the Vice President, Product Management. This role is needed now because AI is central to Collibra’s strategy, and you will help define what responsible, enterprise-grade AI looks like in data governance.

This is a hybrid role based in our New York office. Our hybrid model means you’ll work from the office at least two days each week. This setup helps us stay connected, work more closely together, and keep making progress as a team.

Staff Product Managers, AI at Collibra are responsible for

  • Defining Collibra’s AI product strategy and 12-month roadmap with the Director of AI Engineering and Product and Engineering leaders, so AI investments stay focused on where customers and the market are heading.
  • Co-authoring customer-facing AI features from problem framing through launch and adoption, working directly with customers on challenges such as data management restrictions and custom AI models, so features solve real problems and get used.
  • Leading evaluation of AI models and approaches with Engineering, for both internal use and the customer platform (central model evaluation, platform AI testing, emerging AI paradigms), so Collibra builds on the most capable and appropriate foundation.
  • Setting responsible AI standards with Engineering, Legal, and Security, including a pre-launch review for AI features, so what we ship meets our standards for quality, transparency, and compliance.

You have

  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • Experience working on AI or ML-powered software, including taking an AI or ML feature from design to launch with engineers.
  • Experience presenting product strategy to senior or executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Copilot) to solve real-world business challenges, drive measurable outcomes, or streamline workflows.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

You are

  • A product leader with strong AI/ML technical fluency, who weighs model and provider options on cost, latency, quality, and data-handling constraints and questions technical claims directly
  • An owner who defines what “good” means for an AI feature before it is built, including evaluation criteria, guardrails, and applicable data restrictions
  • A problem-first prioritizer who separates real customer problems from impressive demos and is comfortable saying no to AI work that won’t pay off
  • A clear communicator who explains the same tradeoff to Engineers, Legal, Sales, and executives, adjusting the framing while keeping the substance the same
  • A fast mover in a changing field who holds the line on governance and security standards

Measures of success

  • Within your first month, you will learn Collibra’s platform, AI roadmap, and current AI releases, and meet the Director of AI Engineering, Product and Engineering leaders, and Legal and Security partners.
  • Within your third month, you will draft the AI strategy and 12-month roadmap with a named owner for each initiative, and document key platform architecture decisions (such as the MCP gateway and proxy hosting path) with their tradeoffs.
  • Within your sixth month, you will have the AI strategy and roadmap approved by the Executive Committee, in-flight AI features shipping on committed dates or scope, and a pre-launch AI review in place with Legal and Security that every feature released since has passed.
