Staff Digital Design Engineer Beijing

Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for digital SoC design for cutting edge physical intelligence ICs such as high-performance MCU/DSP/NPU products used in Automotive smart cockpit and Industrial applications.

In this role, you will take ownership of design execution from specification through physical implementation. The role emphasizes architecture definition, RTL development, synthesis, timing closure, DFT collaboration, and close partnership with physical design teams to deliver robust, production‑ready designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop system-level architectures for complex digital designs.
  • Lead RTL digital design for complex blocks and subsystems. Drive key micro-architecture decisions, balancing performance, power and area.
  • Document detailed block and subsystem-level design specifications and implementation results.
  • Work together with verification team for verification planning, waveform debug, regression, troubleshooting, coverage sign-off and etc.
  • Participate in digital implementation jobs such as Lint, CDC, constraints, synthesis, formal verification, ECO, timing and power closure.
  • Support silicon bring‑up, characterization, and debug activities.
  • Guide methodology improvements and best practices across the organization.
     

Qualifications & Experience

  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital IC / SoC design, with demonstrated ownership of complex IPs or SoC designs.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in RTL design, digital architecture, and SoC integration.
  • Solid understanding of block-level and system-level verification methodologies and flows.
  • Familiarity with EDA flows (synthesis, STA, verification) and scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or Perl.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, resilient, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture, digital signal processing, CPU/DSP/NPU is a plus.
  • Familiar with SoC interconnect protocol such as ACE/AXI/AHB is a plus.
  • Experience or awareness of AI-assisted tools to improve design productivity is a plus.
