Staff Analog / Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer
Location: Shanghai, China
Job Type: Full Time
About the Role
Analog Devices is seeking an experienced Staff Analog / Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer to join our Shanghai design team.
We are looking for a senior engineer with broad analog design expertise, strong application and system understanding, and a high degree of technical ownership. The ideal candidate can translate end-application requirements into IC architectures and transistor-level solutions, independently drive complex technical problems, and take designs from concept through silicon and production.
Experience with motor control or motor-driver applications is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Design high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits at transistor, block, and subsystem levels.
- Translate end-application and customer requirements into IC specifications, architectures, and circuit solutions.
- Own designs through the full development cycle: architecture, schematic design, simulation, layout supervision, post-layout verification, silicon bring-up, debug, and production release.
- Independently identify technical challenges, evaluate trade-offs, and drive robust solutions with a high degree of ownership.
- Optimize designs for performance, power, area, accuracy, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
- Collaborate with systems, applications, product, test, layout, and process teams across global locations.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, design reviews, silicon debug, and technical mentoring.
Required Qualifications
- MSEE with 7+ years of relevant analog/mixed-signal IC design experience, or PhD with 5+ years; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Strong fundamentals in analog IC design, semiconductor devices, feedback and stability, noise, matching, and transistor-level circuit analysis.
- Broad design experience across analog/mixed-signal functions such as amplifiers, comparators, references, data converters, drivers, sensing, protection, or power-management circuits.
- Demonstrated success taking IC designs from concept through tape-out, silicon validation, and production.
- Strong ability to understand the end application and system-level requirements, not just individual circuit blocks.
- Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and drive solutions independently.
- Experience with industry-standard IC design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with motor control, motor-driver ICs, gate drivers, current/voltage sensing, protection, or power stages.
- Experience in automotive, industrial, power management, or precision analog applications.
- Experience with BCD/high-voltage processes and power devices.
- Strong silicon-debug and root-cause-analysis skills.
- Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring other engineers.
For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. As such, applicants for this position – except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) – may have to go through an export licensing review process.
