Job Summary
The Sr. Sustainability Analyst is primarily responsible for collection, management, and analysis of climate-related data for KeyBank for the purposes of internal reporting and external disclosures and carbon footprint reduction. This includes (but is not limited to) engaging with internal subject matter experts and data owners, as well as vendor partners, on a regular cadence, working with Key’s other Sr. Sustainability Analyst to help maintain (and continually enhance) Key’s sustainability data management platform, and ensure that data reported is accurate, fulsome, and timely for all reporting obligations.
The Sr. Sustainability Analyst will have a data analysis background with expertise in maintaining a greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory, experience in calculating financed emissions, experience in climate risk assessment, a working knowledge of sustainable finance taxonomies and financial growth markets, and experience in supply chain analysis and sustainability. The Sr. Sustainability Analyst will support the Sustainability Director in developing and maintaining Key’s sustainability vision and program as part of the Company’s overall Corporate Responsibility program.
Responsibilities
- Assist Sustainability Director in developing and maintaining overall sustainability program
- Collect, manage, analyze, and prepare for reporting/disclosure relevant climate data to globally accepted frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, PCAF, ISSB), specifically GHG emissions and financed emissions
- Engage with internal subject matter experts, lines of business, and other corporate functions as needed on a regular cadence to obtain data and information for reporting and tracking against goals/targets, specifically the climate risk team
- Maintain and enhance over time a sustainability data management platform
- Assist in developing content for internal reporting/external disclosure
- Work with relevant external partners to develop and prepare external sustainability disclosures, track relevant goals, and develop strategy where possible, specifically GHG emissions inventory and financed emissions
- Assist in maintaining disclosures for sustainability ratings and rankings
- Research and analyze forthcoming sustainability related legislation and/or disclosures as applicable
- Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
- Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience (required)
Experience Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in sustainability, related field (required)
- Experience working for a financial services firm preferred
Tactical Skills
- Proven ability to collect, manage, and analyze data, including working within data management software
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail
- Proven ability to effectively organize projects, execute deliverables, and manage time
- Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to collaborate cross functionally

Physical Demands
- General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.Please click here for a list of benefits for which this position is eligible.
