The Patient Care Solutions Mobile Center of Excellence (Mobile CoE) is focused on building secure, scalable and high-quality mobile solutions while establishing reusable capabilities, engineering patterns and development practices that can be adopted across multiple products.

The Senior Software Engineer is a strong hands-on technical contributor responsible for the design, development, testing and delivery of mobile application features and shared mobile capabilities. The role works closely with Tech Leads, Architects, Product Owners, UX, Security, DevOps and engineering teams to deliver solutions aligned with Mobile CoE architecture and engineering standards.

The individual should have strong mobile engineering fundamentals and demonstrate expertise in mobile architecture, performance, security, observability, automation, CI/CD, AWS cloud-integrated development and AI-assisted software engineering.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deliver high-quality mobile application features, reusable components and shared capabilities.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Tech Leads and UX teams to understand requirements, assess technical feasibility and translate requirements into implementable solutions.
• Participate actively in technical discussions, design reviews and architecture decisions, bringing a strong mobile engineering perspective.
• Apply established Mobile CoE architecture patterns, coding standards and engineering practices, while contributing improvements based on implementation experience.
• Build reusable mobile components, libraries and common capabilities that can be adopted across applications where appropriate.
• Maintain high code quality through clean design, code reviews, unit testing, automated quality checks and secure coding practices.
• Understand the end-to-end application architecture, APIs, AWS services and integrations while developing deep expertise in assigned components.
• Analyze and improve mobile application performance, reliability, security and user experience using appropriate profiling, diagnostics and engineering practices.
• Implement appropriate mobile security practices including authentication, authorization, secure storage, session/token management and protection of sensitive data.
• Build appropriate logging, telemetry, crash reporting and observability into mobile applications to support troubleshooting and operational monitoring.
• Contribute to automated build, test, CI/CD and release processes and continuously improve engineering efficiency.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, participate in root-cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective solutions.
• Adopt an AI-first engineering mindset, using AI-assisted tools throughout the SDLC for code generation, refactoring, debugging, test generation, code understanding, technical documentation and developer productivity.
• Identify opportunities to use AI to automate repetitive engineering activities, accelerate development and improve software quality, while ensuring appropriate human review and validation.
• Apply responsible AI-assisted development practices, ensuring generated code and recommendations are reviewed for correctness, security, maintainability and compliance.
• Share technical knowledge, reusable solutions, AI-enabled engineering practices and implementation learnings across the Mobile CoE.

Desired Technical Skills / Experience

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience, preferably 7+ years, with significant experience in mobile application development.
• Strong experience with one or more modern mobile technologies such as Flutter, React Native, iOS/Swift or Android/Kotlin.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, design patterns, state management, navigation, application lifecycle and API integration.
• Experience building reusable mobile components, SDKs, libraries or shared capabilities across applications.
• Strong knowledge of mobile application performance optimization including startup, responsiveness, memory/resource utilization and network performance.
• Good understanding of UX principles, accessibility and mobile design systems.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, secure storage, encryption, session/token management and secure mobile development practices.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs and AWS-hosted backend services.
• Experience with automated testing including unit, integration and mobile UI automation.
• Experience with mobile build automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with logging, telemetry, crash reporting, diagnostics and application performance monitoring.
• Working knowledge of AWS and cloud-integrated mobile architectures, with an understanding of reliability, performance, security and cost-conscious engineering.
• Experience with static code analysis, security scanning and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong understanding of Agile/SAFe software development practices.
• Strong practical experience using AI coding assistants and AI-enabled engineering tools for coding, refactoring, debugging, test generation, documentation and code review support.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated solutions rather than accepting generated code by default, with appropriate attention to security, quality, maintainability and accuracy.
• Ability to identify opportunities where AI can improve developer productivity, engineering automation and software quality.
• Exposure to building or integrating AI-enabled application capabilities is an advantage.
• Experience developing healthcare, regulated or security-sensitive applications is preferred.

• Prefer common patterns and shared capabilities over application-specific solutions where appropriate.
• Contribute implementation learnings back into Mobile CoE standards, reference patterns and engineering practices.
• Help improve developer productivity through automation, AI-assisted engineering, tooling and common development practices.
• Collaborate across product teams to encourage consistent approaches to architecture, security, quality, performance and observability.
• Experiment with emerging mobile and AI engineering technologies, evaluate their practical value and help bring useful practices into the CoE.
• Share reusable approaches and engineering learnings so that improvements made for one product can benefit other mobile teams.

Preferred Professional Training and Certifications

• Professional training or certifications related to iOS, Android, Flutter, React Native or other relevant mobile technologies.
• AWS cloud fundamentals or developer certification.
• Training or certification related to AI-assisted software development, application security, DevOps, Agile or software architecture is an advantage.
