Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney’s media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams.

Job Summary:

• In This role will work within the Front-end Web and Experience team and will be primarily responsible for building out various tools to empower workflows and reporting on the digital supply chain. You’ll also be a critical developer building shared libraries and services to empower all the Content Platforms engineering teams. Lastly, you’ll build out enhanced AI capabilities to accelerate the development process, taking products faster from ideation and POC phase to quality production level software.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

• Creating and maintaining shared JavaScript libraries and UI components. Driving efficiency at scale for front-end development
• Implementing business logic of various tool workflows.
• Reviewing others JavaScript and TypeScript code.
• Acting as a tech leader for various projects and initiatives.
• Employ test driven development and agile development practices.
• Partnering with product and program partners for delivery
• Understand performance and scalability of various systems
• Provide technical support for outages and incidents
• Other duties as needed to achieve business objectives

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

• Basic Qualifications
  • Mastery of HTTP server and proxy technologies such as HA Proxy, NGINX, Apache
  • Mastery of ReactJS
  • Extensive experience with NodeJS, and/or Java/Kotlin programming.
  • Extensive experience with cloud native technologies such as AWS EC2, Fargate, and Cloudfront.
  • Experience with frontend web development technologies and principles
  • Experience with task automation
  • Ability to research, learn, assess, and evangelize new technologies
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Driven and self-motivated
• Additional desired qualifications
  • Previous work experience in media distribution
  • Experience building AI driven software
  • Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high quality results
  • Knowledge of performance testing and application profiling
  • Experience with React Native

• Education: BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 5 experience years in web development or software engineering

#TECHATDISNEY

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $141,900 - $190,300 and for Bristol, CT is $141,900 - $190,300. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
