Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Cyber Architect. This position is located in Clearfield, UT and supports the ICBM Sustainment Team.


Note: This role is in support of a 24/7 Network Operations Center and will require on-call work in support of NOC operations.


What you’ll get to do:

• Develop and enable program network risks management process in concurrence with program risk management.

• Own and maintain the cybersecurity posture and configuration of a geographically disperse network.

• Maintain knowledge of current and emerging Industry and DoD trends and technologies in network frameworks, management and analytics and ensure proper utilization where applicable.

• Provide SME-level support and guidance to teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and program standards.

• Participate in program change control boards.

• Oversee patch management and vulnerability remediation programs, ensuring timely application of security updates across the network infrastructure.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive runbooks, standard operating procedures, and configuration control documentation for all network services and devices.

• Work with Cyber ISSM to drive the end-to-end RMF process, produce System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Plans (SAPs), and POA&Ms.

• Collaborate with the SOC Lead, Network Engineer, and Information System Security Manager to ensure robust, secure, and compliant network operations.

• Maintain certifications and training of the most current and relevant technologies and aspects of a dynamic system with upgrades related to diminished manufacture supply (DMS) and new technologies.


Basic Qualifications:

• 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 6 years of relevant experience with Masters; 4 years of relevant experience with PhD

• Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD 8140 Certification for IAT Level II (Sec+, CySA+, CCNA-Security, CND) or higher within two (2) months of starting.

• Must possess advanced Cybersecurity certifications (ex. CISSP, CCSP, GSEC, CISSO).

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools as well as the ability to recommend configuration changes to improve security or monitoring of the system.

• Experience building and configuring SOC tools including SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, and other management and monitoring tools.

• Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Active DoD Secret clearance.

• Knowledge of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE), IP subnetting and protocols such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP, and advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast. Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.

• Familiarity with CMMC/DFARS/RMF/DOD Security Controls.

• Experience working on non-traditional networks such as software defined radio or other communication methods.

• Experience in management and prioritization of workflow using ticket management system.

• Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers.

• Experience working in a 24/7 Operations Center.

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
