Job Summary

The Sr. Design Engineer – NPD is responsible for developing innovative products from concept through production release. The role involves mechanical design, engineering analysis, prototyping, validation, and collaboration with global cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective product solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

• Develop product concepts, layouts, and detailed designs.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Creo or equivalent CAD tools.
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability requirements.

Engineering Analysis

• Perform engineering calculations and design evaluations.
• Conduct or coordinate FEA, CFD, tolerance stack-up, and structural analyses.
• Verify reliability, bearing life, shaft deflection, sealing arrangements, and product safety requirements.

Project Execution

• Support projects from concept through prototype, validation, and production release.
• Prepare project plans, identify technical risks, and drive mitigation actions.
• Manage engineering deliverables and meet committed schedules.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with Hydraulic, CFD, FEA, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Testing teams.
• Support supplier discussions and resolve technical issues.
• Participate in design reviews and stage-gate processes.

Validation & Product Launch

• Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and field trials.
• Analyze test results and implement corrective design actions.
• Support product launch and transition to manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in product design and development, preferably pumps, rotating equipment, or industrial products.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo preferred).
• Knowledge of FEA, CFD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, castings, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with PLM systems such as Windchill.
