PC Optimum Sr. Business Systems Analyst, Toronto/Brampton, ON

In this role as the PC Optimum Sr. Business Systems Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in transforming complex ideas into seamless technical solutions and solve technical and production issues. What You’ll Do:
- Technical Analysis & Solution Design: Analyze business and technical requirements, system dependencies, data flows, and integration impacts, and contribute to scalable solution designs in partnership with Architects, Developers, and Business Systems Analysts.
- Requirements & Technical Documentation: Translate business needs into clear technical specifications, system and data mappings, API requirements, solution flows, blueprints, and key design decisions that enable development and delivery teams to execute effectively.
- Discovery, Planning & Cross-Functional Delivery: Support new initiatives from intake through deployment by conducting technical discovery, identifying dependencies and risks, contributing to solution sizing and estimates, and collaborating with Product, Project Management, Architecture, Development, Data, Reporting, and Analytics teams.
- Testing, Release & Change Management: Provide technical support across QA, UAT, integration, and end-to-end testing; validate data and API behaviour, investigate defects, support release activities, and contribute to change management activities to ensure solutions are successfully implemented.
- Production & Environment Support: Proactively identify and help resolve technical blockers and environment issues across development, testing, and production. Support production incidents, including high-priority/P1 issues, by assessing impacts, troubleshooting, contributing to root-cause analysis, and helping drive issues through resolution and closure.
What you Bring:
- Experience & Domain Knowledge: 4–6 years of experience in technical analysis, systems analysis, solution delivery, or a related technology role within a complex environment. Experience in Retail, Loyalty, CPG, Telecommunications, or customer-facing digital and transactional platforms is an asset.
- Technical, Data & Integration Skills: Strong technical analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities, along with hands-on SQL skills and working knowledge of data models, data mapping, data lineage, ETL/data flows, databases, and structured and unstructured data.
- API, Cloud & Solution Knowledge: Experience analyzing system-to-system and REST API integrations, including endpoints, request/response payloads, JSON/XML, authentication, parameters, error handling, dependencies, and synchronous/asynchronous processing. Familiarity with Postman and cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure is an asset.
- Delivery & Production Experience: Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, Agile delivery, testing, release and deployment processes, change management, and production support. Experience supporting QA/UAT activities and investigating technical or production issues is preferred.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across Product, Architecture, Development, QA, Data, Analytics, and distributed teams. Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Miro, Slack, and Microsoft Teams is an asset.
