To lead the operational performance of the suppliers by implementing the best practices in quality, strategy, processes and procedures according to THALES India Supplier Operations processes.

Strong in Machining Process, Surface Treatment like :  Chromate conversion process, Anodizing, Plating & Painting technologies

Development of new products/suppliers (40%). Supplier management, supplier development, technical query resolution, Support on technical qualifications, management reporting (60%)

Product Development: Lead APQP activities for assigned suppliers/commodities, especially on feasibility study, technical discussion with suppliers, FMEA and control plan evaluation, measurement alignment, inspection planning, process capability study.

Support new product launches to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards

Key Accountabilities:

  • Development & establishment of robust processes at suppliers to improve their maturity and sustenance to achieve the KPIs set by the THALES business lines. Candidate must be adept in doing system/process reviews/audits, workshops and projects for both NPIs & Series production parts.

  • Support of the Purchasing team and our Engineering Competency Centre (ECC) in terms of supplier development and the quality of outsourced parts to achieve the best OCD performance.

  • Support Tier 1 suppliers in safeguarding them to reduce bad parts from/at their suppliers.

  • Report to Supplier quality Head and Supplier Development Head on Non-compliances, quality issues, supplier development strategy, processes and quality improvement programs on a regular basis.

  • Coordinate with suppliers for target setting on yearly basis and review of target achievements on a monthly / quarterly basis

  • Audit vendors / suppliers on periodical basis for sustained Quality performance and also in compliance to the standards defined by Head of Supplier quality.

  • Manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Ensure compliance and QMS requirements

  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities

  • Support supplier and Thales supplier development team to drive the strategies identified for supplier development.

  • Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

  • Be vocal & clear in raising alert or concerns in management meeting, and use such events to make yourself visible in the system.

Educational and Professional Background

  • B. E. Mechanical Engineering with preferred experience in the following areas:

  • Sound knowledge in Machining and Surface Treatment, Painting, GDC/HPDC/Investment casting & Forging.

  • Quality processes, methods and Statistical Quality tools knowledge

  • IT Skills : MS Excel, PowerPoint & MS project

  • Sound knowledge in Metrology, Six sigma processes & tools.

  • Solid understanding of APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, FPY, SLC & PPAP.

  • 10-12 Years
