Recycling Works / Waste Connections is hiring a 2nd Shift Recycling Sorter / General Laborer at our facility in Elkhart, Indiana.

If you're looking for a full-time, 2nd shift job with overtime opportunities, this could be a great fit. This is an active, hands-on position working in our recycling facility where you'll be on your feet throughout the shift, sorting recyclable materials and helping keep our operation running safely and efficiently.

Overtime is paid at time-and-a-half after 40 hours.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 2:00 PM start time
• Typically finish around 12:00–12:30 AM
• Occasional Saturdays as needed
• Overtime paid at 1.5x your regular rate after 40 hours

What You'll Do:

• Sort recyclable materials from a moving conveyor line and place materials into the appropriate areas.
• Safely and efficiently process incoming recyclable materials.
• Work as part of a team in a fast-paced recycling and production environment.
• Remain on your feet throughout the shift while performing repetitive sorting and material-handling duties.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Keep the recycling processing area, equipment areas, and outside yard clean and organized.
• Assist with basic upkeep around the baler and conveyor line.
• Perform general labor, cleanup, and custodial duties as needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

• Ability to stand and work on your feet for the entire shift.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable performing physical, repetitive work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Ability to work occasional Saturdays.
