Up to £50 hour (dependent on experience)

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.  ​

As a Sonographer at Nuffield Health Oxford Hospital you’ll bring high levels of technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately. You have a great eye for detail and you’re caring by nature with excellent teamwork skills.

What will the role of a Sonographer involve?

  • This role calls for equal excellence in technical and people skills

  • You’ll need high levels of technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately

  • You’ll deliver high quality ultrasound imaging & reporting for a varied caseload within the department, and on the ward as required.

  • The role will be largely based around Gynaecology service and patients

What are we looking for in a Sonographer?

  • You’ll have a BSc degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent to meet the registration requirements of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Post-Graduate diploma / DMU in Medical Ultrasound

  • Post registration experience of general ultrasound imaging and reporting to include Gynae pelvis scanning.

  • Experience of managing an ultrasound quality assurance programme will also be an advantage.

  • You must have excellent communication and IT skills, along with a good understanding of how to encourage and promote effective team work

As a Bank Worker, you’ll be called on to provide cover during periods of sickness, holidays or increased workload. We’ll give you a uniform and personal protective equipment. You won’t be classified as an employee, so there’ll be no fixed working pattern, or entitlement to guaranteed or continuous employment.

We operate 6 well equipped and modern operating theatres with 64 well-presented ensuite rooms. We cater for inpatient and day care, providing a broad range of surgical specialties and clinics including Paediatrics, Oncology, Interventional Cardiology & Radiology, Orthopaedics, Endoscopy, Gynaecology, Urology, Ophthalmology as well as women’s and men’s health clinics. The hospital is located with excellent transport links by road and rail, both to and from London, Thames Valley, and the Midlands.
