What This Job Entails:
The Solutions Architect III is responsible for the end-to-end technical
architecture of custom applications, automations, dashboards, and data
pipelines delivered as part of a business solution development team. This
role requires a balanced mix of technical depth and business acumen, with
heavy emphasis on the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem and emerging
AI/agentic development practices, delivered within a regulated (GxP)
environment.
Scope:
- Resolves a wide range of architectural and design issues in creative
ways
- Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of
solution architecture as a specialty
- Works on problems of diverse scope spanning custom development,
low-code platforms, data pipelines, and AI-enabled solutions
- Receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instruction on
new assignments
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
- Define end-to-end technical architecture for custom and configured
applications, aligning solutions to business needs and enterprise standards
- Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions and govern implementation quality
across the solution development team
- Own architecture standards and participate in Architecture Review
Board (ARB) governance
- Work with stakeholders (leadership and subject matter experts) to
build a holistic view of organizational strategy, processes, information,
and IT assets
- Ensure alignment between the enterprise and its IT investments,
particularly across the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power
BI), custom scripting (Python, SQL), and data pipeline/schema design
- Guide responsible use of AI-assisted coding tools and oversee
architecture for custom LLMs, business-facing agents/GPTs, and agentic
workflows
- Translate business narratives into technical models and documented
architectural views showing how current and future needs will be met in an
efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner
- Enforce secure coding and secrets management standards (centralized
secret managers, least-privilege access, credential rotation) across the
development team
- Ensure adherence to SDLC controls appropriate to regulated (GxP)
environments, including requirements traceability, testing evidence, and
release documentation
- Mentor and provide technical direction to solution developers and
engineers

Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) from a four-year college or university
and 7 to 15+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of
education and experience
- Demonstrated experience architecting solutions on the Microsoft Power
Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse) alongside custom
development (Python, SQL, APIs)
- Working knowledge of AI/LLM-based solution design, including agentic
workflows and custom GPT/business agent development
- Networks with senior internal and external personnel in the
architecture and solution development community
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for
obtaining solutions
- Understands the connections among functional requirements,
non-functional requirements, and technical choices to derive a sound
solution architecture
- Experience operating in regulated environments with validated SDLC
controls (traceability, testing evidence, peer review) is strongly preferred
- Ability to take direction from leadership, work independently, and be
self-motivated
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- TOGAF certification
- Azure or AWS Architect certification
- Experience with GxP-regulated or life sciences/clinical research
environments
- Experience with secure coding practices and secrets management tooling
(e.g., Azure Key Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)
Physical Demand & Work Environment:
