What is the purpose of this job?
Together with the rest of the architectural team, you will design technical solutions to meet business objectives, defining a path through technical challenges during program inception through to delivery, adapting architecture and communicating changes to stakeholders, so that programs avoid technical blockers and align with the company’s technology roadmap.
What can I expect to do in this job?
It is expected that you will take ownership of parts of the solution space, with responsibility to define the architecture using well know diagrammatic representations (C4, UML, BPM etc) as well as textual descriptions and verbal presentation of your design.
You will also need to adapt the style of your designs to meet the different audiences (technical, business, public). Participate in discussions about your designs with the rest of the architectural team, where you will be expected to articulate and defend the reasoning of your design as well as concede to consensus to accommodate the teams’ views.
Requirements
What experience, skills and knowledge do I need?
· Essential
1. You will need proven experience creating technical documentation for the issuing of, or in response to, large competitive tenders.
2. You must be able to translate from requirements to design and from design to requirements.
3. You will have proven experience architecting multiple solutions through to .
4. You must have a collaborative and constructive attitude to designing as part of a team.
· Desirable
1. To be comfortable in this role you will have designed solution spanning edge, cloud and user interface.
2. Familiarity with payment industry jargon and process will help you quickly understand the systems you will be working with.
3. Experience working within the public transport sector in as supplier, operator or transport authority, will enable you to better understand the different perspectives of stakeholders with this domain.
