We are looking for a Software Test Engineer that would work in a DevOps setup on a number of projects & products. The position is anchored in ROCKWOOL Digital – Web Applications and API Services Department - the department is responsible for delivering best value in web applications for our internal and external clients.
The Software Test Engineer reports to Web Development Team Lead and serves in the specialist team.
Key Responsibilities and Job Content
- Creating and maintaining test plans and test cases covering both automated and manual testing.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks and reusable test components.
- Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and fast feedback loops.
- Analyzing automation test results to uncover trends and continuously improve test effectiveness.
- Performing manual testing activities, including functional, smoke, regression, integration, etc.
- Designing and executing performance, load and security tests.
- Documenting and tracking bugs in a defect management system.
- Learning system end to end, risk assessment of proposed software changes.
- Collaborate with project/product managers, product owners, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and define effective test strategies.
- Helping with production issues, assistance for development team in efficient bug fixing.
- Defining testing standards and procedures, selecting testing tools.
- Supporting UAT and production release validation activities.
Professional Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Information technology/Computer Science/Software Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in software and/or web application testing.
- Minimum 3 years developing automated tests in web application using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Experience in API testing and REST services validation.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (preferably with Azure DevOps) and version control (GIT).
- Good understanding of test automation design and best practices.
- Experience of functional, performance, load and security testing.
- Experience in SQL for querying and validating application data.
- Understanding in working in an Agile (i.e. Scrum, Kanban) team.
- Good communication skills, fluency in English (verbally and in writing).
- Ability to easily change direction based on lessons learnt or changed circumstances (adaptability).
- Open mind and positive can-do attitude.
- Initiative and ability to work without a close supervision.
- Internal drive for technical excellence.
- Additional competencies (as a plus):
- Knowledge: testing methodologies, network protocols, web security, Jira, Testmo, k6, OWASP, Bruno, C# .Net, Docker, Selenium, Python, Cloud (Azure, Google Cloud).
