We’re looking for a hands-on software engineer to keep the tools, services and integrations behind our AI systems reliable, current and secure, and to help the engineering teams who build on them work effectively. You’ll spend your time applying updates, supporting integrations and resolving issues, rather than designing new architecture. It’s a practical, service-oriented role for someone who enjoys keeping systems healthy and being the person other teams can rely on.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update software components and third-party dependencies, applying upgrades, patches and security fixes.
- Troubleshoot and support integrations between systems and services, responding to requests from engineering teams.
- Evolve tooling that began in a single team into shared, reusable tooling once it shows broad cross-team value.
- Investigate and resolve issues, and validate that updates don’t break existing functionality.
- Maintain and improve build, test and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Run containerised services on cloud infrastructure and keep them running reliably.
- Package, version and document internal tooling so other engineers can adopt it easily.
- Monitor system health and escalate recurring issues that need broader attention.
Job Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
- Working knowledge of Docker/containerisation and cloud deployment.
- Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines, e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar.
- Familiarity with using and maintaining open-source software.
- Ability to work across an existing codebase to diagnose issues, apply updates and support integrations.
- A responsive, service-oriented approach to requests from engineering teams, with a focus on keeping systems reliable.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Experience with C++.
- Experience deploying to Azure.
- Contributions to open-source software (OSS) projects.
- Experience publishing internal packages.
- Interest in developer tooling and platform reliability.
Additional Information:
- You’ll work with the engineering teams across the business who use the tools, services and integrations you maintain.
- Tools include open-source software, containerisation and CI/CD.
