About this Software Engineer - Compute Marketplace role at Scaleway
WHY WE NEED YOU?
Our growth is driving us to strengthen our Compute team to build and launch our new Marketplace project.
Your mission will be to act as a key contributor to the Marketplace project on the Compute side in order to provide our users and publishers with a robust ecosystem of OS images and packaged applications.

You will be part of a team currently being structured to bootstrap this ambitious project. You will work in a highly transverse environment, collaborating closely with Product Management (Marie Debard) and Core Engineering teams to turn this vision into a reality.

YOUR DAILY ROUTINE
Tasks
-
Design and develop new features for the Marketplace platform
-
Maintain and optimize APIs to ensure a seamless user experience
-
Build and maintain tooling for OS image creation and system packaging
-
Create and manage artifacts (applications packaged within images)
-
Automate the manufacturing process for OS images and containers
-
Support and guide external publishers in the creation of their own artifacts
-
Ensure the security and integrity of all Marketplace artifacts (CI/CD, scanning)

Participate in the architectural structuring of new, high-growth technical subjects

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with product goals

Take ownership of "uncharted" technical territories to drive innovation
ABOUT YOU
HARDSKILLS:
-
5 to 10 years of experience in software engineering or system administration
-
Strong proficiency in Go or Python for API development
-
Hands-on experience with Packer and OS image maintenance
-
Advanced knowledge of Linux system administration
-
Experience with Containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and PostgreSQL
-
Mastery of CI/CD pipelines and artifact security
-
Familiarity with Protobuf and microservices architecture

Versatility: Capable of switching between system, dev, and automation tasks

Autonomy: High degree of initiative in a "to-be-built" environment
