Our client based in Central Bedfordshire is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Adult Social Care Reviewing Team on a project basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to focus on reviewing and evaluating existing care and support arrangements, ensuring that adults with care and support needs continue to receive effective, person-centred services that promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.

The successful candidate will work closely with individuals, families, carers, and partner agencies to undertake strengths-based reviews, reassess needs, and ensure care and support plans remain appropriate, proportionate, and outcome-focused. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality social work interventions, safeguarding adults at risk, and ensuring compliance with adult social care legislation and best practice standards.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Undertaking strengths-based reviews and reassessments for adults with care and support needs, ensuring support remains appropriate and outcome-focused.
  • Assessing the needs of individuals, families, and carers using recognised assessment frameworks and evidence-based practice.
  • Reviewing, updating, and evaluating Care and Support Plans to ensure they reflect changing needs, strengths, wishes, and outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with service users, carers, families, NHS colleagues, Housing services, Police, Education, voluntary sector organisations, and other partner agencies.
  • Promoting independence, wellbeing, and positive risk-taking through person-centred social work practice.
  • Undertaking safeguarding enquiries and interventions in accordance with relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.
  • Responding to crisis situations, ensuring immediate protection, risk reduction, and the promotion of positive outcomes.
  • Completing Mental Capacity Assessments and contributing to Best Interest decision-making processes where required.
  • Planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating social care interventions in line with legislative requirements and best practice guidance.
  • Managing a varied caseload and prioritising work effectively to meet service demands and project timescales.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and high-quality case recordings, reviews, assessments, and reports.
  • Working autonomously whilst maintaining professional accountability and contributing positively to team objectives and service improvements. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

To be successful in this role you must have;  

  • Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, or equivalent recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Experience: Significant post-qualified experience within Adult Social Care, including assessment, review work, safeguarding, and care planning.
  • Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Adult Safeguarding legislation, and associated statutory guidance.
  • Assessment Skills: Proven ability to undertake strengths-based assessments, reviews, risk assessments, and person-centred support planning.
  • Safeguarding Experience: Experience responding to safeguarding concerns, crisis situations, and implementing protective interventions where required.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Experience working effectively with NHS services, Housing, Police, Education, voluntary organisations, and other partner agencies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent assessment, report-writing, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Resilient, organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently while managing competing priorities.
  • Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable due to the community-based nature of the role.
