Shop Laborer – Floater
The Shop Laborer – Floater supports daily shop operations by helping maintain a clean, organized, efficient, safe, and reliable work environment. This position plays an important role in creating consistent production flow and ensuring field crews have the materials, parts, and equipment they need to successfully complete their work.
The primary responsibility of this position is to pull, organize, and prepare all vinyl and aluminum stock parts for upcoming jobs. During slower periods, the Shop Laborer – Floater will assist with a variety of general shop activities, including:
- Preparing and organizing hardware for wood jobs
- Loading and unloading field crew trailers
- Processing material and equipment returns
- Performing physical inventory counts and maintaining accurate inventory
- Maintaining shop organization and cleanliness
- Assisting with special projects and other operational needs as assigned
This role is essential to creating predictable and efficient production, reducing delays and inefficiencies, and ensuring field crews leave each morning fully prepared with the materials and equipment required to complete their jobs successfully.
Requirements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and carry 20–50 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, and move materials throughout the workday
- Ability to stand and remain physically active for an 8–10 hour shift
- Ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks as required
