Role Purpose:

To manage a brewing operation in a shift to be able to produce quality wort and beer at optimum cost in most efficient manner at a safest way while maintaining good team morale.

Top accountability

• Plan and acquire the requirements for the shift
• Team management including development and coaching
• Foster good occupational health and environment practices during production and Maintenance
• Maintain good working relation within the team and with other shifts
• Management of the Complete Brewing process from milling, wort production, fermentation and filtration
• Upholding and advancing quality standards by ensuring Quality is maintained at source
• Maintain hygiene of the brewhouse and cellars, including vessels Cleaning in place
• Understand and use MMS best Practices (Tools and Techniques) to drive Improvements and performance
• Understand Quality triggers and Use Escalation Matrix and use it effectively on process deviation and breakdowns for support.
• Manage the assets and processes on shift basis
• Manage costs by ensuring minimal process waste and inventory management
• Facilitate problem solving processes
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives at shift level
• Foster smooth two-way effective communication
• Effect generation of reports and records
• Maintain basic chemical hygiene and chemical handling
• Ensure beer and material posting is done on time in SAP

Experience / skills required: 

Qualification

1. Bsc in Food Science and Technology or any other Degree in the field of natural sciences studies.

2. At least 2 years experience in active Brewing Practices in an established brewery

3. IBD certification as added advantage
