Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As a Senior Technical Specialist, you play a key leadership role in safeguarding Arc’teryx brand integrity through global maintenance of product construction standards, best production practices, and quality standards across all product categories and manufacturing locations. You will lead the development and implementation of advanced processes and standards, ensuring technical packages, construction specifications, and quality benchmarks meet the highest standards.

You will mentor team members, drive cross-functional alignment, and influence strategic decisions that impact product quality and brand reputation. This role requires strong collaboration with vendors, internal teams, and HKO teams to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Product Integrity team ensures all products meet Arc’teryx quality standards. As a senior member, you will champion best practices, guide complex problem-solving, and support growth plans with existing and new vendors by providing leadership on advanced construction methods and material processes.

If you were the Senior Technical Specialist, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for apparel product integrity, providing expert guidance on construction methods, manufacturing processes, quality standards, product risk assessment, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Lead the identification and evaluation of Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) construction elements during product development and prototyping, ensuring product performance, manufacturability, and quality objectives are achieved.

  • Lead technical reviews and risk assessments throughout the product creation lifecycle, identifying product, manufacturing, and quality risks, and driving mitigation strategies from concept through commercialization.

  • Partner with Design, Materials Development, Advanced Concepts, Product Development, Pattern/Fit, and Manufacturing teams to ensure product intent, quality expectations, performance requirements, and manufacturing capabilities are aligned.

  • Provide Product Integrity leadership during research, development, and commercialization, conduct quality reviews, DFM assessments, and technical evaluations on new materials, constructions, and product concepts.

  • Review and approve technical documentation, construction standards, tech packs, and quality requirements to ensure manufacturability, consistency, and excellence of execution across product categories.

  • Own and evolve Technical Quality Reviews (TQRs) and product risk evaluation processes, ensuring objective, data-driven decision making and proactive mitigation planning for high-risk products.

  • Guide field testing, product assessments, and validation activities in Proof-of-concept phase, leveraging consumer insights, field performance data, and manufacturing learnings to improve product quality and durability.

  • Lead complex root-cause investigations and technical problem-solving initiatives, translating findings into sustainable corrective and preventive actions across development and production.

  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve construction standards, quality standards, operating procedures, and best practices that support product excellence and manufacturing consistency.

  • Build strong partnerships with vendors and manufacturing partners, driving technical capability, process improvements, quality performance, and adherence to Arc'teryx standards.

  • Represent Product Integrity in strategic cross-functional forums, effectively communicating risks, trade-offs, technical recommendations, and quality implications to influence critical business and product decisions.

  • Mentor, coach, and develop Technical Specialists, strengthening technical capabilities, risk-based decision making, and organizational knowledge.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging quality data, field performance insights, manufacturing feedback, and consumer learnings to improve product outcomes and operational effectiveness.

  • Contribute to departmental objectives, strategic initiatives, and long-term capability development, helping expand the impact and influence of Product Integrity across the organization.

  • Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Shape the evolution of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) frameworks, embedding manufacturability, quality, and risk assessment earlier in the product creation process.

  • Develop and implement Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodologies to establish a proactive, risk-based approach to product development and commercialization.

  • Advance the Technical Quality Review (TQR) framework through the integration of risk scoring, field performance data, manufacturing insights, and predictive quality indicators.

  • Establish a standardized product assessment and fact-gathering framework that improves objectivity, technical rigor, and consistency in product evaluation and decision making.

  • Define and govern comprehensive testing protocols, data collection methodologies, performance metrics, and feedback integration processes.

  • Champion data-driven quality and risk management practices, improving how product, consumer, and manufacturing insights are translated into preventive actions and strategic improvements.

  • Partner with Product Integrity leadership to define the long-term vision and roadmap for product risk management, quality assurance, and technical excellence.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, testing methodologies, and industry best practices, identifying opportunities to strengthen product performance, manufacturing readiness, and consumer trust.

  • Are you our next Senior Technical Specialist?

  • You have A Bachelor's degree or a Diploma in a relevant field such as Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, Material Science, Fashion, Clothing Technology, or Quality/Engineering/Manufacturing.

  • You have 10+ years of progressive experience in apparel manufacturing and quality management.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, mentor teams, and influence strategic decisions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to drive collaboration and alignment.

  • Ability to balance autonomy and collaboration

  • Seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and PLM systems.

  • Passion for innovation and commitment to maintaining brand integrity

  • Ability to travel and work in a hybrid environment.
