About this Senior Technical Program Manager, Manufacturing Capacity role at Zoox
Zoox is looking for an experienced technical program manager on our Advanced Hardware Manufacturing Operations team to support development of manufacturing capacity for hardware assemblies used on our autonomous vehicle platform.
This is a high visibility, strategic and technical role driving complex manufacturing capacity upgrades and expansion. In this role you will plan and own multiple capital expenditure (CapEx) projects from early concepts through final commissioning, supporting manufacturing of critical subassemblies on both current and next-generation vehicle platforms. You will partner with internal Zoox engineering teams and external partners to develop the capacity to deliver these key pieces of our autonomy hardware stack to the fleet at scale.
In this role you will
Manufacturing Project Lifecycle Management: Drive the planning, detailed engineering design, and execution for complex manufacturing facility upgrades and line implementation.
External Partner Interface: Act as the primary technical liaison, managing relationships, schedules, and deliverables with both equipment integrators and engineering partners.
Cross-Functional Integration: develop project level RASICs and build strong relationships across Manufacturing, Hardware, Facilities, Program Management and Supply Chain.
Communication: Lead and prepare updates for department, program steering team and leadership level meetings.
CapEx & Risk Mitigation: Own integrated program schedules from design through equipment installation and commissioning. Track capital expenditure budgets and proactively resolve critical path risks to ensure seamless operational readiness.
Qualifications

Track record of managing complex, cross-functional programs with hard deadlines and competing priorities.
Deep technical expertise in industrial automation, production and assembly processes for mid to high volume manufacturing.
Experience in factory design, layout planning and equipment installation.
Experience working with suppliers and partners on large capital equipment projects, including early development of project requirements and Statements of Work (SOWs).
Demonstrated ability to negotiate with external vendors and drive consensus among cross-functional technical teams internally.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of synthesizing complex technical and financial data into actionable leadership updates.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience collaborating directly with Product Development, Hardware Engineering, or other engineering teams to influence Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and ensure smooth new product introductions (NPI).
Experience with sensors, optics, high performance compute, telematics, or other advanced hardware development and industrialization.
Experience scaling manufacturing environments in Robotics, Consumer Electronics, Automotive, EV, Aerospace, Data Center Hardware, or Advanced Robotics industries.
Proficiency with factory design tools (AutoCAD, Navisworks) and advanced program management software (Smartsheet, MS Project).
