WHAT YOU'LL DO

• As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will own end-to-end program execution for one or more hardware programs within AES — from early development through production scaling. You are the single accountable owner for schedule, cost, and scope across your program, and the primary interface between the program team, senior leadership, and external stakeholders. You will drive decisions, not just surface them.
• This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in hardware development who can operate at both the strategic and tactical level — able to define a program roadmap one hour and resolve a supply chain blocker the next.
• Own the full program lifecycle for assigned AES hardware programs — from NPI and prototype builds through low-rate and full-rate production — with accountability for schedule, cost, and scope performance.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, integrated master schedules, budgets, risk registers, and stakeholder communications, ensuring all artifacts reflect ground truth at all times.
• Define program execution strategy, including phase gate criteria, acceptance frameworks, build plans, and production transition roadmaps.
• Lead cross-functional program teams spanning engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and operations — aligning priorities, resolving conflicts, and driving accountability at every level.
• Identify, assess, and actively mitigate program risks before they become schedule or cost impacts; escalate clearly and decisively when they do.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external customers — delivering clear, credible program status and representing AES with confidence in program reviews, CDRs, and customer engagements.
• Partner with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to drive production scaling plans, capacity investments, and make/buy decisions that support program commitments.
• Drive continuous improvement in program execution rigor, establishing repeatable processes and tools that scale across the AES portfolio.
• Mentor and develop Program Coordinators and junior TPMs, building the program management capability of the broader AES team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of experience in technical program management or systems engineering in a hardware development or defense manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated track record of delivering complex hardware programs on schedule and within budget, from early development through production
• Strong technical fluency — you can engage substantively with engineering teams on design decisions, system integration challenges, and production readiness criteria
• Deep knowledge of program management disciplines: integrated master scheduling, risk management, earned value or equivalent cost tracking, and requirements management
• Proven ability to lead and align large, cross-functional teams without direct authority — influencing through clarity, credibility, and follow-through
• Experience managing external customer relationships, including delivering program status in formal reviews and navigating scope and schedule negotiations
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively from the factory floor to the executive briefing room
• Strong financial acumen — able to build and manage program budgets, interpret cost performance data, and support business case development
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated hardware development environment required
• Experience supporting NPI programs through DV, PV, or LRIP gates
• Background in financial operations or program controls (budgeting, planning, EVM, cost tracking)
• PMP, CAPM, or equivalent certification
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Operations, or a related technical field
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance
• Willing to travel as necessary (~25%)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience scaling hardware programs from prototype to LRIP or full-rate production
• Familiarity with ITAR-controlled programs and associated documentation and compliance requirements
• Background in manufacturing operations, production engineering, or supply chain management
• Experience with NPI gate frameworks (DV, PV, LRIP) and production readiness reviews
• PMP, DAU, or equivalent certification
• Master’s degree in engineering, Systems engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree is a plus
