About this Senior System/ System Manager, Reserve & Risk Management (Contract) role at Singapore Public Service
[What the role is]
The IT Department is responsible for the project management, design, implementation and operational support of IT Applications in MAS. The team manages and ensures the smooth operations and delivery of IT projects that serves the Financial Industry as well as MAS users.You will be part of the Central Banking & Devt Platforms division, responsible for managing the systems supporting the reserves and risk management systems in MAS.
[What you will be working on]
Lead the implementation and management of on-prem-based applications, ensuring optimal performance and security while assessing on-prem security needs and control frameworks.
Design and implement configuration management strategies, including virtualisation for on-prem-based hosting solutions, developing scripts and templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and application updates.
Develop and optimise Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD2) processes, including test automation integration.
Foster a DevOps culture within the team, implementing best practices, promoting continuous learning, and maintaining Agile workflows.
Provide comprehensive application development support, creating resources and tools to enhance developer productivity and streamline operational processes.
Establish robust logging, traces, and metrics solutions to gain visibility and enhance monitoring and observability into service health, develop key reports based on Service Level Indicators (SLIs)/Service Level Objectives (SLOs)/Service Level Availabilities (SLAs), and implement modern network operations practices for efficient incident management.
[What we are looking for]
Extensive experience in on-prem hosted application software engineering
Good knowledge and understanding of the SDLC process and tools used in DevSecOps
Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience implementing deployment pipelines, release strategies (blue-green, feature flags)
Experience in automating and optimising operational processes in software development environments
Ability to combine IT operations knowledge with machine learning and automation for efficient alert and incident management. This includes working with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog and ELK stack on metrics, logs, and traces for SLIs/SLOs/SLAs.
Experience in maintaining and adopting Agile best practices and lifecycles for process workflows
Experience in forecasting product resource needs, load testing, identifying bottlenecks, and ensuring product can handle traffic spikes gracefully
Demonstrated ability to promote DevOps methodologies and culture within teams.
Experience in developing technical content and support systems for development teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex systems and processes.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
