Job Title: Senior Strategy Manager - Media
The Senior Strategy Manager plays a key role in uncovering consumer, audience and market insights to shape integrated media strategies for a portfolio of regional and multinational clients. This role partners closely with planning, activation, analytics and client teams to develop insight-led media recommendations that drive business outcomes. The Senior Strategy Manager contributes to strategic thinking across annual planning and campaign development, while building strong day-to-day client relationships and ensuring strategic excellence across media initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of media research tools, audience platforms, data sources and their practical application in planning.
- Develop audience, consumer and media consumption insights to inform integrated media strategies.
- Contribute strategic thinking that drives innovative and effective media solutions across client categories and markets.
- Collaborate with media, creative, analytics and client teams to ensure strategies are aligned to broader business and marketing objectives.
- Support the development of paid media audience strategies, customer journeys and content consumption frameworks.
- Translate research, data and business objectives into clear strategic recommendations and actionable media plans.
- Partner with planning, activation and analytics teams to ensure strategic integrity throughout campaign execution.
- Leverage first-party, platform and third-party data sources to strengthen audience understanding and inform media investment decisions.
- Identify opportunities for media budget optimisation, channel prioritisation and audience growth.
- Support the design of measurement frameworks and performance learning agendas that connect media activity to business outcomes.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal teams, agency partners and client stakeholders.
- Stay current on emerging media trends, consumer behaviour shifts and digital platform developments to identify future opportunities.
- Contribute to thought leadership, strategic frameworks and product development initiatives within the agency.
- Present insights and recommendations confidently to clients and internal stakeholders.
Personal Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of experience in media strategy, planning, digital marketing, communications strategy or a related field.
- Strong understanding of media channels, audience planning, consumer insights and data-driven marketing.
- Proven ability to develop strategic recommendations that address business and marketing challenges.
- Experience working across digital and traditional media environments.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights.
- Effective stakeholder management skills with experience engaging clients and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent presentation, communication and storytelling skills.
- Highly collaborative with the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Commercially minded, curious and proactive, with a passion for understanding people, culture and media.
- Experience managing small project teams or mentoring junior strategists is advantageous but not essential.
