Job Description:

Darktrace is building a world-class team of Specialist field experts with the ambition of becoming the world's leading AI-powered cybersecurity company. This high-profile, customer-facing role will support sales teams around the world, based on US East Coast, helping strategic customers adopt and secure AI technologies through Darktrace's Behavioral Defense Platform and Darktrace / SECURE AI portfolio. The role combines deep technical expertise, executive engagement, and business leadership to accelerate revenue growth, influence product direction, and establish Darktrace as the market leader in AI security.  

As a Global Blackbelt, AI Security Specialist, you will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, helping organizations safely deploy AI at scale while maintaining visibility, governance, and control over AI systems, agents, and data flows. 

You will work alongside account teams, product management, marketing, engineering, and executive leadership to drive some of Darktrace's largest and most strategic AI security opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Partner with account teams and regional leadership to develop AI security strategies that support revenue growth, customer retention, and platform expansion. 
• Serve as a senior technical authority for strategic AI security opportunities across enterprise, cloud, SaaS, hybrid, and operational technology environments. 
• Lead executive briefings, support customer workshops, technical evaluations, and Proof of Value engagements focused on AI security outcomes. 
• Mentor field pre/post sales engineers and account teams on AI security technologies, competitive positioning, and customer engagement strategies. 
• Advise customers on securing GenAI platforms, AI copilots, AI agents, AI development environments, and emerging autonomous workflows. 
• Demonstrate and position Darktrace / SECURE AI capabilities, including Shadow AI discovery, AI prompt analysis, AI agent identity security, and AI development management – alongside the overall Darktrace Behavioural AI Platform. 
• Help customers build governance, visibility, and security controls around the rapidly expanding use of AI across their business. 
• Develop trusted relationships with CISOs, CIOs, AI leaders, security architects, and executive stakeholders. 
• Identify expansion opportunities across Darktrace's broader platform, including Network, Email, Cloud, Endpoint, Identity, OT, and AI Security solutions. 
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to provide customer feedback, competitive intelligence, feature requests, and roadmap influence. 
• Support the development of repeatable AI security sales motions, technical enablement programs, and customer success frameworks. 
• Create and present thought leadership content including webinars, whitepapers, conference presentations, blogs, and industry research. 
• Represent Darktrace at customer executive events, analyst briefings, industry conferences, and AI security forums. 
• Develop and maintain strategic partnership with hyperscalers, AI platform providers, cloud providers, SASE vendors, MSSPs, and consulting partners. 

Skills & Experience 

Required 

• Proven experience as a Security Strategist, Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager, or similar customer-facing technical role. Experience on the customer-side would also be highly valuable, alongside excellent presentation and communication skills. 
• Strong expertise in cybersecurity, cloud security, AI security, data security, or cyber risk management. 
• Demonstrated experience supporting consultative and solution-based sales through technical leadership and subject matter expertise. 
• Strong executive communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex AI and cybersecurity concepts. 
• Experience building trusted relationships with senior technical and business stakeholders. 
• Ability to influence and lead outcomes across highly matrixed organizations. 
• Deep understanding of enterprise security architectures including cloud, identity, networking, endpoint, email, and SaaS environments. 
• Experience with common AI platforms and ecosystems such as Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, Anthropic, Google Gemini, and other emerging AI technologies. 
• Strong knowledge of AI risks including but not limited to prompt injection, data leakage, excessive permissions, agent abuse, model misuse, supply-chain risks, and Shadow AI. 
• Familiarity with AI governance, AI risk management, and emerging AI security frameworks. 
• Experience discussing AI adoption strategies with executive stakeholders and security leadership teams. 

Preferred 

• Hands-on experience deploying or securing enterprise AI, machine learning, or generative AI solutions. 
• Experience in cybersecurity domains such as NDR, XDR, SIEM, EDR, cloud security, identity security, email security, or security operations. 
• Knowledge of AI security frameworks such as OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, NIST AI RMF, AISF-1, MITRE ATLAS, ISO 42001, and related industry guidance. 
• Experience working with Microsoft Security, AWS, Google Cloud, OpenAI, Anthropic, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler or similar technology ecosystems. 
• Experience influencing product direction through customer feedback, competitive analysis, or market insights. 
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, Azure Security Engineer, AWS Security Specialty, Microsoft Security certifications, CompTIA SecAI+ or equivalent. 
• Experience working in fast-growth cybersecurity or SaaS organizations.
