About this Senior Software Engineer - Product (Hybrid) role at Enova International

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Software Engineer on our Product Consumer team, you’ll be designing and implementing technical solutions to business problems. You’ll collaborate with other engineers to build the best systems for the problem at hand, learning from Lead Engineers and Architects, while mentoring junior developers. Most problems have multiple solutions and we need your expertise to figure out which one is best and drive to completion. In addition, you will work with Product Management, Analytics, and Operations to deliver business value.
Our most successful Senior Engineers are able to tackle a variety of tasks from designing microservices, operational issues, production debugging, risk mitigation and management, and the ability to pair with others outside of your immediate team in order to accomplish any task.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience with any programming language we welcome engineers from various technical backgrounds. Ideally we prefer 2+ years of Rails experience.
- Comfortable with AI agent harnesses and writing skills.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience developing and maintaining asynchronous jobs and task queues (Sidekiq or similar frameworks)
- The ability to solve problems in more than one language, and know exactly why one of them is better
- Expertise with building software features, enterprise architecture, and API integration to facilitate first in class software.
- Project management skills, specifically the ability to oversee projects end-to-end, estimate work, and break up problems into deliverable parts
- Deployed multiple web applications from a full-stack perspective.
- Experience collaborating with product managers to plan and scope products iteratively.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Nice to have:
- Deployed software using Ruby, Rails, Go, or PostgreSQL
- Experience in the Finance domain is a nice-to-have
- Aspiration to grow into a people leadership role through mentoring teammates, driving team initiatives, and shaping priorities.
Compensation:
This position includes various levels within our career ladder. The actual annual salary will be determined based on qualifications, skills, experience, and level assessed during the hiring process and may fall outside of the ranges shown.
Budgeted annual salary ranges:
Senior Software Engineer I: $98,000-$130,000
Senior Software Engineer II: $108,000 to $140,000
Additional compensation for this role may include a bonus. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in Company benefits, described in more detail here.
