Job Description

We’re looking for Senior Software Engineers to join our team and help bring our new Workforce product roadmap to fruition. If you:

• Are passionate about using technology to have a massive impact in Education, and are excited about using AI to accelerate that mission.
• Are eager to use innovative approaches to AI to find ways to answer the hard questions in education
• Are eager to work with stakeholders across the business, from our CEO to key stakeholders in our product organization, to get things done 
• Know how to build and architect software to get from zero to released
• Have a keen eye for how to prove out complex functionality with real data, and how to tweak and tune to get the best results
• Are always eager to roll up your sleeves and dig in at all stages of the software and product lifecycle - from high level ideation, to working through user stories with the teams to get the product into the hands of users
• Understand the flexibility needed to release product in the fastest-changing technology landscape that we’ve ever seen before

Requirements

Core Goals and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, modify, and support the development of software for Learnosity’s Workforce product
• Lead task planning, estimation, and scheduling, working closely with other teams and management to deliver projects from inception to completion, and ensure documentation is kept up to date.
• Determine root cause for complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.

Experience and Skills

Must haves:

• Strong understanding and experience with agile frameworks and practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• 6+ years of experience as a web applications developer
• Experience working with Python and Typescript
• Experience with various database technologies (relational, nosql, document-oriented, etc) and query concepts in high performance environments
• Experience writing unit and integration tests
• Great knowledge of design patterns and back end architecture best practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences.
• Strong code review skills
• Experience mentoring junior developers

It would be great if you had:

• B.Sc or M.Sc degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar
• Commercial experience with AI tools and concepts, including machine learning and large language models.
• Experience of TDD 
• Experience setting up or configuring CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in a startup environment (we are not a startup but are looking for our AI Labs teams to have a startup mindset)

Location & Working Style

Our team is based in Dublin City Centre. We value the balance between flexibility and the energy of in-person collaboration, and work from the office at least three days a week.
