Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join our team and help bring our new Workforce product roadmap to life.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in defining the frontend architecture and engineering practices of a new product, working across the full product lifecycle from early ideas and prototypes through to production.

You’ll be someone who:

• Is passionate about using technology to have a meaningful impact in Education and is excited about the opportunities AI creates.
• Has a deep understanding of modern frontend engineering and enjoys building high-quality, scalable web applications.
• Cares about user experience, visual quality, accessibility, performance and the details that make great products feel great.
• Knows how to design and architect frontend applications that can evolve as a product grows.
• Has strong experience building reusable components, patterns and frontend libraries that enable teams to move quickly without sacrificing quality.
• Understands the value of design systems/component libraries and has experience contributing to or establishing them.
• Enjoys working closely with product managers and designers to turn ambiguous ideas into simple, and effective user experiences.
• Is comfortable working in a rapidly changing technology landscape and evaluating emerging technologies pragmatically.
• Is comfortable getting involved at every stage of the product lifecycle — from high-level ideation and prototyping through to implementation, testing, release and iteration.
• Enjoys mentoring other engineers and helping raise the technical bar across the team.

Requirements

Core Goals and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, test and support frontend applications for Learnosity’s Workforce product.
• Define and evolve frontend architecture, patterns and engineering standards.
• Build high-quality, reusable React components and frontend primitives that can be shared across the product.
• Contribute to and help evolve our design system and component library.
• Work with designers to translate designs and interaction patterns into accessible, responsive and production-quality experiences.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, designers and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end product capabilities.
• Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code with appropriate unit, integration and end-to-end test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and help establish best practices across the engineering team.
• Identify and resolve complex frontend performance, usability and reliability issues.

Experience and Skills

Must haves:

• 6+ years of professional experience building web applications, with significant experience working on modern frontend applications.
• Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience building accessible interfaces following WCAG principles.
• Deep understanding of modern JavaScript/TypeScript, browser technologies and frontend engineering principles.
• Strong experience designing and building reusable, composable React components.
• Experience designing, implementing or evolving a design system across multiple products or teams.
• Experience building or maintaining a shared component library used by multiple teams.
• Experience working with component libraries, design systems or frontend design frameworks.
• Experience with modern component libraries such as shadcn/ui, Radix UI or similar.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, data fetching and application structure.
• Experience building responsive, accessible and performant web applications.
• Strong understanding of frontend testing practices, including unit, integration and end-to-end testing.
  

It would be great if you had:

B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a similar discipline.

Some experience with Python or another backend language.

Strong experience with modern CSS and utility-first approaches, ideally including Tailwind CSS.

Experience with Storybook-driven development, visual regression testing or component testing.

Experience with frontend performance optimisation, including Core Web Vitals and performance profiling.

Experience working with AI-powered user experiences, large language models or AI-assisted development tools.

Experience setting up or configuring CI/CD pipelines and frontend deployment workflows.

Experience working in a startup or startup-like environment, with a willingness to move quickly, experiment and learn.

Location & Working Style

Our team is based in Dublin City Centre. We value the balance between flexibility and the energy of in-person collaboration, and work from the office at least three days a week.
