The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
Build the Fabric that enables the next generation of intelligent healthcare applications at Solventum - Health Information Systems (HIS).
We are building a modern AI Fabric to accelerate how AI capabilities are developed, deployed, governed, and operated across our products and platforms globally. We are looking for a Senior Development Engineer with 5-10 years of production software engineering experience.This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with a strong passion for AI platforms, cloud-native systems, LLMs, and distributed architecture. In this role, you will help make AI a reusable enterprise capability. Your work will enable engineering, sciences, and product teams to move from experimentation to secure, reliable, observable, and scalable production AI faster. A software-engineering-first mindset is critical for this role.
In this role, the engineer will.
- Design, develop, test, and operate code services and capabilities of the Solventum-HIS AI Fabric.
- Build scalable platform capabilities for AI inferencing, Infrastructure for lightweight Agentic AI workflows, and lifecycle management.
- Develop frameworks and services supporting LLMs, SLMs, MCP, AI agents, tool integration and orchestration, and agentic workflows specific to multi-modal medical documentation and medical coding.
- Build APIs, SDKs, reusable services, and developer tooling that makes it easier for other product teams to safely integrate AI into applications.
- Engineer highly scalable, available, distributed systems using cloud-native architectures, Kube containers, and microservices.
- Develop production-grade capabilities with model registry, agentic state management, observability, lineage deployment and infra-automation, and CI/CD.
- Implement AI platform capabilities with security, privacy, data protection, reliability, and operational readiness by design, particularly for regulated healthcare environments.
- Collaborate across Engineering, Sciences, Product teams, Architects, and security teams.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous improvement.
- Be the bar raiser through strong design and SDLC practices.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND Five (5)-(10) years experience in computer science or software development experience, including experience building and operating production software.
AND
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java; Go, Typescript.
- Experience developing products on a major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with Infrastructure automation stack such as Docker, Kubernetes, terraform, observability, CI/CD, and production on-call operations.
- Experience building REST APIs/graphQL/gRPC, event-driven design..
- Generative AI, LLMs/SLMs, RAG, vector search, model eval.
- Agentic AI frameworks and concepts such as Langraph, Langchain, tool calling, multi-agent systems, and workflow orchestration.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include.
- Experience developing technology for healthcare applications or platforms is a plus.
- Strong engineering discipline around automated testing, measuring code coverage, code quality, security, privacy, reliability, performance, and code sustainability.

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
