A Snapshot
As the Senior Services and Commissioning Manager, Australia, based in Sydney, you will report directly to the Services and Commissioning Associate Director based in our HQ in Sydney. You will work closely with the Design, Development and Operations teams, making your mark in a number of ways:
- Act as the building services and commissioning lead, overseeing multiple projects in Sydney and manage them through to successful completion and handover to the operations team and customers.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders including General Contractors, Suppliers, Commissioning Agents and Customers to meet all AirTrunk requirements within the testing and handover process.
- Collaborate with the APME AirTrunk Development and Design team to drive the safety and quality standards and global best practices to meet AirTrunk requirements
- Ensuring AirTrunk’s data centres are commissioned not just for completion, but for long‑term operability, performance and lifecycle sustainability.
***This role is predominantly based in our data centres in Sydney, Australia, but may require you to travel to interstate and overseas occasionally***
Your Day to Day
- Provide leadership to the internal and external commissioning teams throughout the commissioning process for new data center developments in Sydney, Australia
- Ensure governance throughout the commissioning process to maintain high standards of project delivery.
- Conduct detailed design review and drive improvements of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical Plumbing) services to our new data centers to enable successful commissioning
- Plan and execute the commissioning and handover process for AirTrunk new data centers in the region (Support in other regions may be required from time to time)
- Oversee and manage multiple projects at different project stages at any one time
- Ensure that all commissioning procedures follow the necessary safety and environmental policies and practices.
- Drive consultant, General Contractor, Supplier and Commissioning Agent activities prior to and during commissioning to enable efficient and successful handover.
- Coordinate and resolve technical issues leading up to and during commissioning.
- Internal and external stakeholder engagement and report back to management on the status of commissioning activities
- Drive and witness successful factory testing of MEP equipment.
- Attend regular design and commissioning meetings to ensure AirTrunk standards and procedures are being maintained. Attend construction meetings on an as-need basis.
- Establish and coordinate the commissioning schedule with general contractors, vendors, contractors, and commissioning agent to ensure completion prior to RFS dates.
- Review the MEP, DCS, ICT, Security and other services designs for compliance with AirTrunks requirements and to enable efficient and successful completion and commissioning and Oversee stakeholders document control for these disciplines
- Oversee contractor commissioning defect management process and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Coordinate commissioning activities with AirTrunk Operations teams and ensure submissions of MOPS, O&M Manuals and Training on-time and to AirTrunk’s requirements
Requirements
- You have 8+ years of experience acting as a Commissioning Manager lead for a data center provider or Commissioning Agent role leading the successful handover of complex data center projects
- Experience commissioning in live, operational data centres
- You have a good understanding of multi-disciplinary building services design, construction and commissioning processes
- You have experience interfacing with data center MEP Suppliers, Contractors, and Commissioning Agents within the APAC market
- You are incredibly flexible and adaptable to a dynamic fast-paced, collaborative environment
- You are willing to make decisions and be accountable for them
- You excel at communication; you can deliver effective presentations on data centre design and commissioning strategies to customers, peers and management
- You have good leadership acumen to lead multi-disciplinary teams across multiple geographies
- You are willing to travel to other APAC regions
