We are seeking an experienced security leader to oversee physical security, operational planning, and emergency preparedness for our advanced research environment. In this high-impact role, you will lead Building Security Center (BSC) operations, integrate physical security with building management systems, and ensure robust protection of sensitive research and intellectual property. You will collaborate closely with Facilities, EHS, and research teams to maintain a secure, compliant, and supportive culture of innovation.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and continuously improve comprehensive security operational plans, including staffing models, resource allocation, and readiness exercises tailored to a high-tech research environment.
• Serve as the Building Security Center (BSC) Lead, overseeing daily operations, 24/7 situational awareness, and incident response readiness across the Advanced Research Center.
• Design, author, and maintain rigorous Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for physical security, access control, and facility emergency response.
• Lead the cross-functional integration of physical security systems with the Building Management System (BMS), ensuring seamless interoperability between access control, surveillance, and building infrastructure.
• Oversee the design, maintenance, and operational readiness of the facility's radio network and mass emergency notification systems to ensure rapid, reliable communication during critical events.
• Serve as the organizational lead for the Riskonnect platform, managing risk and incident data workflows, tracking metrics, and driving enterprise risk visibility.
• Collaborate closely with Facilities and EHS teams to align security planning with building operations, laboratory safety protocols, and capital construction projects.
• Implement physical security controls and operational measures that safeguard sensitive research, proprietary technology, and high-value laboratory assets without impeding research velocity.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in corporate security, facilities security, or emergency management leadership roles, preferably within a high-tech R&D, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure environment.
• Strong technical working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), physical security integration (access control and CCTV), two-way radio networks, and mass notification systems.
• Proficiency with enterprise risk management and incident reporting platforms (e.g., Riskonnect), alongside a proven track record of developing and auditing operational SOPs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Facilities Management, Emergency Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

The base pay range for this position is $99,300-165,600 USD Annual.  The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. ​

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $99,300.00 and $165,600.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
