The Gillanders lab in the Department of Surgery is a leader in translational studies in Immuno-Oncology with an emphasis on personalized cancer vaccines. The laboratory has several ongoing clinical trials that involve many different platforms for the delivery and clinical benefit of personalized cancer vaccines.The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in the culture of human cells derived from patients undergoing clinical trials and experience in the characterization of the immune response elicited by vaccine administration. The candidate should have experience with, but not limited to, ELISpot immunoassays, flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques, and should be able to perform basic experiments using essential good laboratory practices. The job also requires meticulous record keeping, the ability to learn and maintain database management, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment with other lab personnel.

Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborates on designing, conducting and reporting of research projects.
- Assists with grant preparation and reporting. May submit grant proposals in rare circumstances with the approval of the PI, Department Head and Dean.
- Prepares and submits papers on research.
- Develops hypotheses to be tested and ways of testing it.
- Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
- Manages research project with other institutions and investigators.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological, chemical and radioactive hazards.
- Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

$63,400.00 - $115,000.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
