About the Role

As a Senior Research Analyst for Gasoline, you will own Kpler’s East of Suez light-ends intelligence, covering major demand centers and refining hubs across Singapore, China, India, the Middle East, Indonesia, and Australia. Operating at the core of global commodity intelligence, you will connect regional gasoline dynamics to West of Suez balances through rigorous arbitrage, blending economics, and physical trade flow analysis. In this high-impact individual contributor role, your published research and market calls will directly empower commercial traders, refiners, and institutional investors to navigate volatile transportation fuel markets with clarity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive regional market analysis: Lead structured research on East of Suez gasoline markets, linking vessel flows, refinery runs, inventory shifts, blending economics, and pricing signals into defensible market views.
  • Evaluate key supply and demand drivers: Formulate and maintain forward-looking perspectives on Chinese export quota policies, Indian and Middle Eastern export capacity, Indonesian import demand, and regional blending margins.
  • Author high-impact research publications: Write and publish regular market reports, thematic Insights, and actionable trade recommendations with clear directional calls and evidence-anchored conclusions.
  • Assess policy, mandates, and infrastructure: Track refinery turnarounds, export duties, sanctions, and regulatory shifts such as octane specifications and ethanol blending mandates to quantify their impact on inter-basin flows.
  • Audit cargo movements and blendstock flows: Cross-validate real-time vessel tracking and flow data against refinery yields, stocks, and consumption to identify blendstock misclassifications, yield anomalies, and re-export patterns.
  • Lead commercial client engagement: Present regional market views at industry conferences and client webinars, handle complex market queries, and support commercial pre-sales discussions.
  • Shape product innovation: Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to identify coverage gaps in East of Suez gasoline and blendstock benchmarks to guide the data platform roadmap.
  • Experience & Background

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with experience presenting complex market ideas to executive clients and external audiences.
  • Established track record of publishing independent market research notes and forming directional market views.
