About the Department

The Wholesale Banking function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.

Overview of the Role

• Meet or exceed business targets (combination of in-country and cross-border revenues).
• Communicate effectively within the internal network and work collaboratively with GRM and FRMs and product partners and other stakeholders (Business Finance, Business Management).
• Effectively manage total obligor exposure with no credit losses.
• Ensure that annual credit review packages are submitted in a timely fashion.

Job Responsibilities

• Managing the local relationships with MNC customers by serving as the face of UOB to the US parented company.
• Coordinating with Global Relationship Manager and Field Relationship Managers (“GRM” and “FRM”) and product partners to deliver suitable products and services throughout the UOB network to the MNC’s overseas subsidiaries (primarily Vietnam/Asian based).
• Developing new business by (i) targeting key prospects and converting to new customers and (ii) expanding the products and services delivered to existing customers within UOB Vietnam as well as across UOB network in Asia.
• Monitoring a MNC group’s financial/business performance, KYC/Sanctions exposure, tracking and managing the bank’s total obligor exposure while ensuring an acceptable risk/return.
• Preparing the credit memos, initial credit application and annual credit review for a MNC client to articulate account strategy, returns, credit exposures.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance & Banking
• Experience in Corporate Banking for at least 10++ years for Relationship Manager position.
• Requires credit assessment, analytics and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Fluent English communicator in speaking & writing.
• Outgoing and ability to build rapport with clients.
• A self-starter who has displayed a track record of being able to work independently in client acquisition and has a keen mind to learn new solutions.
• Ability to work in a team with team members from across geographies.
